Full disclosure: I have not used this moving company's services (yet). I was just so impressed by AMS customer service I wanted to leave a review. Howard is a wealth of information, especially for someone like myself who has never done a long distance move. He clarified all my options, even those that didn't include his company's services. I came away from our conversation with solid information and great advice from an experienced professional in the business. Thanks again, Howard! We may be in touch depending on how things shake out with our intra-state/out-of-state move.

Many thanks to Howard and his team for their professionalism and care with moving a  household of memories for our 89 year old mother, not once...but twice. It is difficult at times dealing with our aging parents, but Americas Moving, Columbia SC were very patient and understanding and put her at ease throughout the move. And, unlike many others these guys are always there when you call and happy to assist...can you imagine that! I highly recommend this team to move you and your loved ones! I requested America's Moving to ship my car (from Texas to West Virginia) and household furniture (from Florida to West Virginia). Both deliveries went very well and on time, with no delays. They shipped my household items in just one day, in spite of the extremely large distance from FL to WV. How quick! They delivered my items one day earlier than the scheduled. The drivers also did good job unloading from the truck to our apartment. The administration is responsive and makes sure everything is shipped on time, with no problem. I like their service.

I had a great experience with America's Moving Services which had been highly recommended to me by a friend who has used them three times. For the most part, they do not do the long distance moves but shop them around to movers who are already in the pickup area and do not want to head back empty. They agreed to a short two day window for pickup as well as drop off some 900 miles away. The company doing the move - On Time Moving out of Jacksonville Beach, FL - had a truck break down en route to the pick up in Virginia  and were a day late. I was in frequent communication with America's Moving Services which kept on top of things. The driver of the truck also called me directly to apologize and assure me that the deadlines would be met. The driver (Thomas Diaz) and his helper (Willie) were very good at their job and very polite. The customer estimates what they are shipping (list of boxes by size/weight) and I underestimated by 2,000 lbs. The charge was higher as had been fully disclosed in the contract. Out of 219 items shipped, only one had damage - a cracked plastic storage container. If I ever move again, I would call America's Moving Services without hesitation but with a better inventory of what I was shipping.

4.5 stars. I have used AMS two times now for long distance moves and am about to use them again. Prices are the most reasonable for all the companies I have checked, especially for the services offered. When we moved we looked into all sorts of options, including U-Haul and PODS types of companies, and we found that America's Moving Services didn't cost that much more and included the loading and unloading. 

Our belongings have been handled with care both times. The movers wrapped furniture very well and disassembled several tables (removed the legs) and wrapped each piece individually. Items have arrived in the same condition as they left our previous destination.  

The even for my half-star deduction is that, for our first move, there were some communication problems related to the arrival of the moving truck on the front end of the move (I was only notified two hours prior to their arrival). The next time we used them I expressed my disappointment in this and experience no communication problems for the second move. 
 
I highly recommend this company!
