Worst military move of my husband's 17 yr plus military career. The movers basically emptied the truck and left. I think the movers expected me to be a newbie and not know my rights, plus the fact that I was caring for my 3 yr old during this nightmare. I had to ask them to give me the checklist and to read the box numbers to me as they entered my home. After items were unloaded from the truck, I started to discuss the unpacking and I was told "Oh, we're done." He stated that they could only unpack items on floors and counters and that would 'make a mess'. I called my husband at work at that point, and he went to the Army Transportation office. 3 grown men could not figure out how to assemble a child's toddler bed - even after I loaned them OUR household tools and showed them a picture of the assembled bed - and also left several other items disassembled. My child's room (and the whole house) was left as a fire hazard. My husband filed a complaint with the Army Transportation office and plans to file an ICE report. The Transportation office called the movers who claimed that there was no room to unpack anything.....they delivered all items to an EMPTY house, and we have 1/2 of the allotted weight for my husband's rank. The day of the move my husband returned home after a 16 hr plus work day, and had to assemble our child's bed, and start assembling the other variety of items left by the movers. I went to the company website and left a message about the horrible experience and requested to be contacted. I was contacted by email and then later that day by phone. I explained I do not want them back inside my home and I will contact them to come get the boxes and debris left by the movers when we are done unpacking ourselves. In my opinion, they took advantage of an Army wife home alone, with the added challenge of watching a child while all entrances to the home were necessarily open during the unloading, to get out of all responsibility they have to their job and the company they work for, and represent. I hope this is not the company that will be used when my family PCS's to our next duty station, although the Army has some kind of a contract with this company for military moving, so we probably will not have any choice except to go through this nightmare again.

Just moving a small shipment from Japan to Columbia by way of Charleston, SC. Expected date of delivery was July 5, 2016. Coleman American company finally scheduled me for July 28th at 0830. After speaking to a few unprofessional representatives, including one who quit last week, (Tanya), Tyleisha (who his fairly new) stated that the delivery men are still "on their way" and it is now almost noon. She could not tell me what time to expect them to arrive, how many men there were, or even the size of the truck so I could make sure they had available parking--she couldn't care less. Plus, the office manager was out of the office today. I plan to ask them if they had another delivery before mine or if they are coming late to drag my time out so they won't have to do anything else today. I can only imagine how they will unpack my items. I hope that the military will not use this company for local moves again. We are spoiled and accustomed to on time and professional services through the military and it still is always still a stressful time and much patience is needed. Nevertheless, this office is most likely the worst moving company in the Columbia Metropolitan area.
