Ames West Side Storage is Ames' newest self-storage facility with a high-tech twist. You are able to reserve units online in 10 minutes, stop by our self-serve kiosk 24/7, and check-in to the unit all at YOUR convenience!

Megan, an on screen avatar in the kiosk, is our 24/7 manager . She speaks and provides step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process of checking in to our storage facility. (Megan incluso habla en espanol.) She can help you decide what size of unit you may need, offer insurance for your valuables, and she'll also be able to provide locks if you don't already have one. Additionally, if you need more help, you can speak with a live person at the kiosk just by hitting the help button or give our number a call.

Reviews

Stored clothes and electronics in storage for 5 months, came back and were in great condition. Internal storage is not climate controlled and were a few dead spiders, but after having used other local services I could tell that much more care had been given to pest control. It's not 100% effective, but put a few mothballs and your items will be safe and secure. Better and more economical than other options and close to campus.

We were delighted to find a storage facility with a 24 hour coded gate, security cameras, clean units and  excellent upkeep.  We are using 2 units and have found them both to be in excellent shape and weather tight.  The management has been observant and helpful with our concerns.

I was very pleased with my experience at Ames West Side Storage!  The facility was clean and secure - I never worried about the safety of my items while they were in storage.  Steve was great to work with and was very accomodating in allowing me to pay up front for my unit while I was out of the country for more than a year.  I would definitely use Ames West Side Storage again!

West Side Storage was a life saver. My daughter is from out of state and this solved our problem of what to do with all her stuff until she returned this year.  The owners are very responsive and were quick to help me since I was reserving a unit sight unseen.  The units are clean, spacious and the whole property is in great shape.  Check out was easy and we'll be back again this next year.

Hey Cyclones! If you're like me coming in as an out-of-state student with a lot of junk (or even as an in-state student with a lot of junk, no judgement here) I promise West Side Storage is the best storage facility for you in town. Steve is so easy to work with, is very kind and understanding, and is running wonderful facilities that gave me peace of mind about the safety and well-being of my things. His rates are fair and his "virtual" summer storage set up is very organized. I'll be using West Side Storage again next summer for sure!
