He seemed like a good doctor. He told me to see him in 2 weeks but when I went to check out they had said he was all booked up for the next month. So I set up that appointment. At that same first appointment he had also set me up to see a specialist to have a procedure done, at which it was up to the specialist schedule as to when that would be done. It just so happened that the specialist wanted to schedule me the same day as my next appointment with Dr. Guzman. I called his (Guzman's) office a week in advance to ask which appointment I should do because of the times of both appointments I would have to cancel one of them. Dr. Guzman's office said to go to the specialist and cancel their appointment. That same day I rescheduled the appointment. Unfortunately we had hurricane Irma come through and there was an automated message that all appointments were canceled. I made a new appointment and when I showed up (after waiting 30 min in the room), he came in to tell me he was dismissing me as a patient because I did not follow his directions to see him in 2 weeks. I was appalled and said that it was his receptionist that told me he was all booked up and continued to explain to him the following events that led up to today's appointment. He said that if I were a serious patient I wouldn't have waited so long to see him. I asked him, "I just told you that it was NOT my fault" and he insisted it was. I was (and still am): appaled, frustrated, embarrassed and upset at this. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE. Beware: if he tells you to see him in 2 weeks and his staff tells you that it will be longer than that you go ahead and find another doctor because he will dismiss you as a patient when it isn't even your fault that he is booked up. And pray that you don't have a natural disaster happen on your appointment day.

Dr. Guzman is a kind Doctor who listens well and has tremendous experience. He is a fantastic choice, be it from insurance options or freely.

Terrifyingly incapable! He did a cholesterol test without telling me or noting it on the lab form that it needed to be a fasting test (which is does). Then on the strength of the results he told me I was a "stroke risk" and tried to scare me into getting onto medication immediately! Thankfully my chiropractor had more sense and got the tests redone properly a week later and my cholesterol is perfectly normal. Dread to think of the damage he could have caused! Avoid this incompetent doctor like the plague.

I took my mom to Dr. Guzman after reading good reviews only to be shocked and disgusted! The office staff were very rude and unfriendly. The nurse was nice. Dr. Guzman was nice at the first visit and ordered labs and tests my mom needed. On follow up the visit was horrible. He reviewed the reasults with us but my mom and I still had concerns about her health especially given her history and he dismissed all the concerns. He said he will refer my mom to a GI doctor for a colonoscopy...well we never heard and even after I called the office never heard back from them. He ordered the wrong meds for my mom and even after I called and left a message with the nurse still no return call and my mom continues to get the wrong med...luckily another doctor was able to prescribe her the appropriate medication. We followed up with a specialty doctor concerning her continued issues and the doctor was shocked that Dr. Guzman dismissed her concerns especially given her history and ordered all the appropriate labs she needed and did all the work up needed. My mom also has severe osteoporosis and had a DEXA Scan done for which we still no nothing about the results. I am a healthcare professional so I am familiar with what appropriate patient care should be and this is well below average. It angers me because your physician should champion for you and take your concerns seriously. Luckily my mom has me and a few others in our family that are in the medical field and will advocate and follow up on issues for her and we know if something is wrong, but many others don't have this luxury and what happens to them?!? They don't get the care they need and deserve! This is absolutely disgusting and unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend this clinic to anyone!
