Located in the heart of the beautiful Pocono Mountains, Dr. Valese has been caring for the pets and people in our community for over 30 years. We are proud of our comfortable and friendly environment, and boast cutting edge technologies such as ultrasound, digital dental xray, and therapy laser. Our highly trained staff is here to serve you, and care doesn't end when you walk out the door. Dr. V is a nice guy and a good vet. The staff gets to know you and they like the pets. I brought my dog here for a special operation he needed on a tooth, and he got good surgical care, and good care and check-ups after it. I would send friends here for dental issues, we came over an hour from New Jersey to see Dr. V. for this, he is not our regular vet.

The staff there is so welcoming and accommodating... they know my cats by name and know me when I walk in. They explain everything and work with you as best they can!!! We received a list of recommended procedures but they never push anything on us... they explain what has to get done and let us decide when we can fit in the other procedures. They gave us a tour of their facility and that made me comfortable about leaving my kittens with them! Right from the start they made me feel like my pets were their life... they call to check up on them after they have work done and then call just to see how they are doing! No question goes unanswered!!! I highly recommend this vet!!! We are happy with our decision.

This physicality has a lot to offer. From everyday vet check ups to dental care to doggy day care. However, even their calming music and aroma therapy scents, to help calm patients, were no match for my 2 year old terrier. As a new customer/patient, I must admit, my first impression was not that great. The physicality is very small. The moment we walked in, it was sensory overload. There is so much stuff crammed in every available space, it's too much to look at and very distracting. From signs to products to decor, its too much. The waiting area is too small. Their are separate sides for cats and dogs, but because it's so small, if there is an unfriendly dog there, ( which there was) there is nowhere else to go. You are stuck sitting so close together. They took my dog from me and told me to wait in the waiting area while they give her a Lyme disease vaccination. Then later told me its to help keep the patient calm.... How is that keeping her calm??? A strange person took her in a strange place, away from the only person she knows, behind closed doors and then gave her a shot... That doesn't help anyone calm down.... Then someone came to stay with my dog while someone else "gave me a tour". Not necessary and once again separating me from my dog... All the girls that work there seem to be very nice and friendly. There was something a little brainwashy about that. It just seemed like they were trying too hard... The actual DVM doctor was a very odd personality. He didn't seem very personable with humans. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about him just didn't set well with me. I explained my dog's history with her long time suffering of sensitive stomach and successful prescription food and he immediately suggested we change it... I also told him that she struggles with overactive anal sacs that need to be expressed every so often and that she was, at the moment, having trouble with. He told me he didn't see that as a problem and instead thought it was her vulva and gave me a cream for it.... At the beginning of our visit, I mentioned her needing her nails trimmed and that never happened. I also asked, several times, if my dog's records were received from the old vet's office, with no clear answer. I even asked the doctor, himself, if he had her records and his response was, "I don't have them printed out so I don't have them here with me." .... Why would you come into an exam room with a new patient and not be prepared with records??? If you want to impress me, you lost your chance right there. He walked into the exam room not knowing anything..... And as a side note - my dog usually loves going to the vet because its a chance to meet new people. But this time she was so stressed out, she couldn't wait to get out! And lethargic from the vaccine, which no one warned me about... I hope this place doesn't ruin my dog's excitement about going to the vet... So my overall impression of this place is.... *They try too hard to impress you. They seem very proud of themselves with their flashy nonsense. It's overwhelming. And not in a good way. And the doctor is a shorter version of Lurch from the Addams family.

Good afternoon, my name is Andrew Jimenez and I wanted to take the time to fully thank the staff at Animal Hospital of Mount Pocono for the service they provided me on 05/05/2017. Not only were they very pleasant to speak with regarding my cat, but they were very precise in explain everything to me regarding my cat's surgery. I would highly recommend this place to any one looking for a vet to not only take care of your pet's needs but also make sure that your pet is extremely comfortable at all times. I also want to add that making an appointment is extremely easy and quick we called last minute and they were able to get us in there quickly, I was also impressed with the level of communication showing that they care for your pet's interest above anything else. Will continue going here for as long as I am living in Pennsylvania !!! Thank you so very much for your professionalism and making things really as easy as they could have possibly been!

My experience was absolutely wonderful. Cj and I were treated like friends the moment we walked in the door.Dr. Valese explains in a way that is very easy to understand and offers many suggestions for improving the issue. I highly recommend them. His staff is the best I have ever dealt with!!!!
