Founded in 1988, we are a full service AAHA veterinary hospital located in Valrico, FL

Story

The Animal Medical Center was established in 1988 as the Animal Medical Center of Brandon. In 1997, we relocated to a brand new 5,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. We have the desire and ability to provide our patients with the highest possible care. For your added convenience, we are able to perform most diagnostic testing and laboratory analysis on site. We have been an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited animal hospital since 1991. We currently have a staff of about twenty employees, including veterinarians, technicians, receptionists, administrative personnel and kennel staff.

Dr A was incredible with our much loved but very fussy calico cat. He was calm and careful with her when others have been frustrated and not quite as gentle. He was also so kind and respectful of her needs when she was riddled with lymphoma at the end of her life. He and his staff were supportive and caring as he offered her a quick and painless transition from this world. We will not forget this clinic's kindness

DR. JIM ANTUÑANO and his staff are awesome. I have three labs that I take there for their medical needs. They are a group of professionals that care extremely about animals. My chocolate lab had to have surgery and Dr. Antunano was a true professional. My lab was taken care of so well. They also have a groomer. She is wonderful with your pets. A+ Medical Center!

I had to have my 14 year old cat euthanized today and I have had to do this very unpleasant task in the past. Dr. "A" was very kind and gentle and did it in such a way Misti didn't even know what was happening. My past experiences did not go like this one today. Kudos to Dr. "A" for helping to make the transition to the "Rainbow Bridge" as peaceful as possible.

I've been taking our dog here for almost 3 years and I love how Dr. A really cares for each and every one of his patients. The staff has always been so pleasant and helpful in every situation.

I don't leave reviews but this needs to be said. We are new to the area and needed a new vet for our 4 dogs and saw this place had good reviews. They never told me which tests they were doing beforehand or the cost of anything. It did not matter if I took 1, 2 or all 4 of my dogs at one time I was always charged a minimum of $300 with no real break down of the actual charges. One of my dogs, has allergies according to my old vet, and they kept giving us medication that would kind of work while he was taking it but didn't solve the itchiness entirely. They just suggested we clean him off everytime he comes in from outside, we have a fenced in yard with a dog door and we both work full time, so it's not feasible to do this. He still itches. The staff was nice but never very informative on what they were doing or why. It even took me several trips to get an actual price list from them. They do seem to try to care for the animals but they really seem to only care about money. I won't go back just to be changed another $300 for no reason.
