Went here last night to check out the pets the dogs looked okay the chinchilla had plastic which is a big no no!!! It's fur looked rough but that's not the worst all the rats in the back cage was over 50 I one tine cage along with the mice above them and the 2 poor hamster that were in a 2x2 cage. if your going to own or run a pet store at least have ethical and do right by the pets... If anyone knows where I can call to report this place please let me know

I don’t even think this place deserves a star and need to be shut down. We got a puppy from this place December 2016 and he was sick from day one .. he is constantly sick and in the hospital. We paid a lot for this dog and have spent over $6,000 on vet bills trying to help. Don’t buy dogs from here you will be spending so much money to help a sick dog that will never get better and pass away. Whoever buys or breeds these dogs should seriously take a look at themselves and ask why they would do this to people and these poor dogs. It’s sick... please don’t put yourself though the pain of buying one of these very sick dogs. These people need to be held responsible for their actions, it’s inhumane.

This place is ridiculously over priced for their dogs and probably the most expensive in town. I feel so bad for the dogs that end up in this store. I feel as though they do not have enough space in their cages and need to be treated better. The only reason I come in this store is because I feel so sad for these dogs who I know will eventually find a home, but it's so sad seeing how much they are priced at and thinking how long they have to stay in their cages. Although, many of them get played with on a daily basis, I pity them because of the priced they are marked at. You would think that with all the money this guy is making that he would do more with taking care of the animals. This store seriously needs to lower its prices or shut down. I would like to put the owner in a small kennel and put an outrageous price tag on him, so he knows what it feels like to only be seen as a dollar sign. There are a majority of other places in town with dogs at lower prices. if you would like to get a dog at a more decent price, you can check out Deliahs pet store. Or check the Bloomington Animal Shelter, they come at a lower prices with all their shots INCLUDED. Just never (unless you are stuffed with money) shop at Anthony's pet.

I got a puppy from here about a year ago. We were not informed that our puppy had a respiratory infection that we ended up spending about $100 dollars to correct at the vet. We then called multiple times to inquire about our pet's history and breeder, as we were hoping to meet the parents of our dog if possible. The girls who answered each time supposedly took my number for the manager but after 4 calls still no one had gotten back with me. Each time I deal with this establishment either in person or over the phone the staff is rude and seem very unhappy with their job. Most of the staff do not seem to care about the dogs or care about being upfront with their history. I suspect they are getting their puppies from a puppy mill and that's why they are evasive about the breeder info. I would recommend finding a private breeder that allows you to do a home visit or going to the shelter instead of giving your money to Anthony's.

If you can, please take some time to read this review. I, like many people, really enjoy going to Anthony’s Pets and looking at their cute dogs and other animals. By the time my wife and I decided to buy a puppy, one of the first places that came to my mind was Anthony’s. However, we were a little dissuaded, because of the many negative reviews we’d read about it. We thought that possibly most of these reviews were only by people who felt they had bad experiences, and those that had good experiences just hadn’t written about them. So, we decided to get our puppy from Anthony’s, and had a wonderful experience, and still do to this day. We decided to adopt one of the Puggle puppies they had, and the girl who helped us check out was very good about explaining to us the health history of this dog. She informed us that he had had a respiratory infection, she told us how they had treated it, and that he had a surgery for an umbilical hernia. She was very detailed when she went through the adoption papers with us, and their adoption policy. We were given his birth information, etc. The girl who helped us was very friendly, and really wanted us to be happy with our selection. If you’re considering adopting a pet, first off be informed. Know about the animal you’re thinking of adopting and know what equipment you’ll need to take of them properly. Know what health issues can be associated with your future pet, and see a vet very shortly (1-2 days) after adopting the animal. Ask questions so you know what you’re getting into. Understand that the temperament of your pet while they’re small and at the pet store may change when they get home and grow up. Anthony’s Pet Store is a great place who cares about their animals. Please don’t let some of these negative reviews sway you from adopting from them. Our puppy is healthy, and happy as can be. If we ever decide to get another dog we will definitely be using Anthony’s again.
