I rarely eat Japanese food, but I went because my girlfriend frequents this restaurant. I am glad I did go! There were plenty of choices for me as a vegan. And everyone else enjoyed the sushi. Everything was brought to the table beautifully prepared and tasty! Our server was attentive to our needs and patiently explained everything to me as I was new to the experience. I will definitely be going back to try other dishes!  Parking: Plenty of parking in the garage, which is right behind the building so an easy walk through the alleyway.

This place was amazing! Got seated right away and felt very cared for. My water glass was always full which I really appreciated. The atmosphere of the place was wonderful! Decorated very nicely for the holidays. And of course the food was incredible! Got a couple of sushi rolls, the salmon spring rolls, edamame and mochi ice cream for dessert. Loved it all, would highly recommend this place!

We are vegan.  It is difficult to find really, really good vegetable sushi.  Aozora takes so much care with theirs.  I have had the avocado sushi roll twice now.  It is perfection.  I still can't figure out how they can get such perfect avocado every time.  No hint of brown, perfect ripeness, beautiful and creamy.  The sweet potato sushi is the best I have ever had.  The tempura on the sweet potato is perfectly crispy and holds up in the sushi roll.  We also ordered the pumpkin soup, and they were able to omit the shrimp and keep it vegan for us.  So good and different from other pumpkin soups I've had.  The chives were a great addition.  We shared the tofu terriyaki, which was not only beautiful, but delicious.  Tender, delicate triangles of silken tofu with a perfectly light and crispy tempura with a hint if salt.  The terriyaki sauce was subtle and delicious.  I was so excited to eat, i forgot to take photos first.  Was so pretty when it arrived.  Also, staff was very helpful, friendly, and very attentive. They were able to answer my concerns about food allergies and ingredients.  Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetable sushi, tofu options, and vegan soups.  They were very accommodating with omiting meat and fish to make items vegan.  Dietary restrictions: Were very helpful and asked kitchen when I was concerned about my food allergies.

Aozora is a lovely fusion restaurant in Montclair. The decor is simple and clean. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The Tuna Tataki Roll and the Aozora Roll were yummy. But be sure to order the cod with sautéed veggies was perfect and light. The crème brûlée cheesecake was amazing!Food: 5/5

I like the place, wasn't that crazy about the dumplings  if I was you, skiped but the rest of the dinner was pretty good. I got vegetables and shrimp tempura, nice portion, well fried, also a udon chicken soup, and some sweet potato tempura sushi roll. Overall  is good  price relation with quality. Nice ambiance, look nice for a date.

Fantastic sushi rolls! Some of the tastiest special rolls we've had The atmosphere of this restaurant is kind of fancy but the prices weren't terrible. The staff was very friendly and attentive. In the picture, right to left: Galaxy roll, fire dragon, Montclair, Aozora. Definitely recommend.

So I stopped by this place to get some lunch. I called in my order of the vegetable udon lunch special with miso soup. It came to about $10.64. When I arrived I found parking on the street not too far. I walked in and was greeted by the lady that took my order. I told her my name and she handed my food to me. I paid by the exit door with credit card and left. When I got in and ate I enjoyed the miso soup and the udon was ok. It had a sweet taste to it which I had to add spice to make it more to my liking. I had an ok experience.

The Sushi Sandwich specialty roll was so delicious!! The Twister is also a must have! Enjoyed eating the Out of control hand roll as well.Food: 5/5
