I went to this restaurant because they had soup dumplings but that wasn’t the right decision. The soup dumplings are so tiny and soup inside is not tasty. It was ok. I would not want to come back. In one order they only give 4 dumplings and those are tiny ones. The service is not good. The staff was on the phone. The noodles were tasty. They could do better with good quantity.
The interior of JiangNan is all black. The venue was packed when we arrived around 8:30 pm on a Saturday night. We shared the Pecking duck spring roll and the Chicken and Mushroom dumplings as appetizers, but they take long to cook so we ate the Chicken Lettuce wraps first. We could have split the Chicken Lettuce Wraps as the portion was large. My friend thought they were a little to ioly, but I loved loved them! They have a fabulous menu and very nice staff!
Service was absolutely terrible. We were seated and forgotten. Table beside us left after waiting an hour for food that never arrived. I had to flag down someone to get water refills. The initial small salad placed on the table were tasty, the soup dumplings were delicious we were encouraged to get the pork dumplings, and they did not disappoint, the sliced beef, a signature dish, was good but nothing special, the fried rice was my favorite dish. We ordered a signature chicken dish, that contained shards of plastic. We flagged down someone again, no one returned to our table, to advise them. After confirmation from the kitchen that it was plastic, we were told it would be removed from our bill and that we would receive 10% off our total. Our waiter never returned to see us. Lastly, a large table seated toward at the rear of the restaurant was extremely loud and rowdy, and cursing intermittently. Staff were inattentive and did not recognize or care to notice how everyone in the restaurant was annoyed. It certainly did not lend itself to an enjoyable experience. While the soup dumplings and rice were delicious, they are not enough to warrant a return.
By far one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. The Chinese cuisine created by this chef is mouth-watering and flavor packed. The food was fresh and light. The presentation of each dish allows the unique story of each dish to shine. I had one of their new dishes, a shrimp and vermicelli dish that was the best shrimp dish of any cuisine I have ever had. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was comforting and serene!

The fish was cooked to perfection, with a spicy kick that was not overpowering. The flavors were well-balanced, and the dish was just the right amount of heat. To accompany the meal, I tried the non-alcoholic pineapple beer, which was refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, the dining experience was exceptional, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Chinese cuisine. The quality of the food, attention to detail, and exceptional service all combined to make this an unforgettable dining experience.

Service was a little bit on and off, had to flag people over to get more water and service. Food itself was actually quite good, pretty authentic according to the Chinese folks I was sitting down and eating with. The food can be spicy, so make sure you're prepared for that. Half a Peking duck was excellent, and the steam fish Chongqing style people liked if you like spicy. I would skip the fried milk dessert as I've had better elsewhere.
Food here is so delicious. We love every dish we ordered tonight. Plus, they sent us roses and desserts for valentines’s day. Service is also super nice and caring! This new place is right across from my climbing gym. Will definitely come back more often!
This place is a nice addition to the Chinese restaurant scene here in Montclair. This place is a well known chain and the dishes came out nicely done. The only minor complaint is the thick, meaty slices of Peking duck. The Peking duck slices rather look like Cantonese roasted duck. If you are looking for an authentic Chinese cuisine experience, I would recommend here.
