This was a fantastic aquarium experience for all of us, kiddos and adults alike. Very nicely priced. So much to see and experience. The kids got to touch sting rays, starfish, anemones, and even jelly fish among other creatures. It wasn't very crowded for a spring break weekday. All the staff members were super sweet and kind to the kids. They answered all questions in the best and most interesting ways to keep the kids wanting to know more. The theater was also a big hit with the kids, as well as the interactive tablets and stamp collections for the bookletswhich they had in a huge variety of different languages, it was so refreshing to see this. We all can't wait to go back and see all the critters and creatures again.
Great experience for kids with its abundant information about the aquatic life and beyond - a lot more interactive activities. Got there on a weekday afternoon and it was fairly packed. Really a great gem! I heard that there were a lot of upgrades to the existing so I couldn't tell aside from really enjoying it all!
Fun for all ages. Helpful and friendly staff. A huge plus that they now serve alcohol. I wish someone told us to go feed the birds first thing upon arriving. I heard it was a great experience. Seeing them was nice. Even saw one bird do his cool mating dance only to get royally rejected. The jellyfish are beautiful and probably the most interesting to see. They have a very large tank with hammer head sharks and beautiful manta rays. This great exhibit makes you feel like part of the ocean. It's beautiful to see all the variety coexisting. It's a bit tough to see the octopus in his/her smallish tank. Some displays were down for repairs upon our visit so we'll have to return to get the full experience. The longest lines will be in the gift shop check out for some odd reason.
This place is always great. Also a great learning place for kids with a ray touching pool and an aviary, The birds will sit on your hand and eat from seed cups... Lots of sea life from around the world, plenty to see for the whole family they even have several sea lions and a very large Sea Ray in the upper Ray pool... You can take a 2 1/2 hour whale watching tour also, we saw a few hundred dolphins and a fin whale on our last trip..
Absolutely wonderful experience! So many amazing exhibits and very informative and interactive displays. Parking was very easy and they even validated the parking. The cafes were good, and not packed. It was really cool to get to see the scuba divers feeding the fish, getting to pet sting rays, and feeding birds. We highly recommend putting this on the list of must see while in the long Beach area.
Took my 6 year old niece. As soon as we walked I she told the Employee, "I haven't been here in months! I Love it here!!" Lots to do for children. The Aquarium itself is really not that big. It's 2-3 floors. They have an Aviary & small pools where they can reach in and touch sting rays, small sharks, etc. I definitely recommend taking your children some snacks and if they like juice ...... take some! I bought a 16 oz orange juice for my niece & it was $7 !!! Too much if you're on a budget. Also if you plan to buy drinks take your own recyclable straws. They do not give straws with your drinks. Also I use a walker and everything is accessible. They have ramps & elevators. They also have a water splash area! So if your children like to get wet take extra clothes for them.
I haven’t been to an aquarium for many years, and it was the first time my husband and I ever visited one together. It is huge, with so much to see! We spent a few hours there enjoying the experience. My favorite creates to see were the sea lions, jelly fish, seahorses, sharks, turtles, and sting rays. And the many colorful fish and sea life - all of it was really interesting and invigorating to observe. It’s unreal how large these creatures can be, and it’s cool to learn about. I love the layout of the exhibits, and the fact that they provide you a map we would have easily missed things without the map, so it was great to have. The highlight of the experience was the opportunity to touch a moon jelly fish! It was really, really cool.
Beautiful place with lots of different environments to see filled with their various plants, animals, and everything in between. Some hands on exhibits let you interact with a few types of animals, walk through tunnels filled with gigantic water tanks, some even with waves! Wonderful place to take the family or a date, just be sure to make your reservation before you get there.
This place is amazing. They have wonderful display tanks to admire all of the beautiful fish. You can go outside and touch the starfish and jellyfish. There are a few eatery places inside along with snacks to buy. Bathrooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Parking is right across the street and they do validate your visit. You can even leave the facility and return the same day as long as you get a stamp on your hand on the way out. Sometimes they have giveaways like FREE posters and such. There is a great big gift shop near the exit to buy cool things. Wonderful place for a kids field trip and great to place to visit and enjoy with family and friends. Highly recommend !!!
What a cool place and way cheaper than I thought it was going to be. Coming from the east coast to CA I kind of had this thought everything was going to be super expensive. Very reasonably priced. I found the aquarium to be super clean. The exhibits were all very cool and I got to see animals we don’t usually have in our southern east coast aquariums. The penguins were super cool.
