On Saturday, January 10 the driver for the 7:03 run of bus 170 ran the wrong schedule reflecting the stop times as though the bus went to Warren Wilson College, stopping intermittently for several minutes to allow the bus to remain on this schedule (correct schedule is attached with Saturday run outlined in yellow). I called Mr. Koslen’s office on January 10 and left a message about this error. On February 7 and 14 the 7 am bus 170 again ran the wrong schedule this time going up to Warren Wilson College and again getting into the station far too late to transfer to the desired connecting busses. I spoke to Mr. Koslen about this on Thursday, February 19 at which time he confirmed the bus indeed ran the wrong schedule. Today February 21, once again the bus ran the Warren Wilson route not the correct route for Saturday morning. The excuse given by the drivers on these occasions is that they were issued the incorrect worksheet for the run and had to follow the sheet they were given. If it is impossible for transit to find someone in your organization to print the correct route for the driver, then you should change the public schedule to reflect this. You could also print the attached pdf in color and issue this to the drivers for the Saturday morning run. I do feel that Asheville Transits lackadaisical attitude to this continuous error does reflect general ineptitude of your organization.

A dedicated VA employee stood out in the fridged below freezing temperatures 15 minutes this morning waiting on a bus that never showed. There was NO communication via the local news channel that the bus would be late. This is poor customer service and a health hazard that warrants a policy change. Think about the use of a phone tree service alerting the usual riders of the change.
