They make it seem like they are providing service at a great price, but I am confident that they do things that do not need to be done just to get money out of you. I recently was told I needed to have a root canal, I was not satisfied with the quality of work they had been doing, so I went to another dentist to get a second opinion. I then found out that a filling was all that I needed on the tooth! I can't believe I let them put a partial filling in and walked around like that waiting for a root canal I didn't need! They also make you wait FOREVER in the waiting room. Overall, way too much focus on fitting in as much production as possible and little concern on the patients themselves.

You have to watch your own teeth when you come here so you have any teeth when you leave. This place is not a serious place to go if you are in need of real dental work. They are here to make money, NOT HELP YOU!

Aspen dental (Bay City) I had wisdom tooth that was infected , it had to come out. I paid 550$ cash for this procedure. After paying I even double checked with the clerk that I had paid everything and was good to go. Now, a week later I receive an 87$ bill for an exam dated for the day I had my tooth pulled. I did not have any kind of exam that day. So I call, the clerk that I spoke with IMMEDIATELY said she had to speak with her supervisor and would call me back befor the end of the day ! I smell FRAUD! Also, they told me I needed 6 fillings which I do not . They said all 4 wisdom teeth needed to go, and guess what THEY DONT.

I was having some severe pain from what turned out to be part of a broken root from a baby tooth, that was protruding from the side of my gum next to the adult tooth that replaced it. Aspen was advertising free exams for new patients, so I decided to see what they could make of it and suggest be done. After the very long and drawn out x ray session, I was sat down in a room with a dentist who honestly sounded like she didn't even possess a degree in the field. She poked around and named off a list of "problems" she "found", as a guy behind her wrote them down. Then even after I very clearly stated that the problem was the piece of broken tooth that was very visibly sticking out of my gum, she inisted that my wisdom teeth were causing me pain and that as soon as those were removed I would be pain free. Then the guy writing stuff down took me into the next room and spelled out a treatment plan, saying they could pull all 4 of my wisdom teeth plus the one that I complained about (5 and a half teeth total) for the low cost of 2,200 dollars. I again insisted that was not the issue, and asked just how much it would be just to remove the splintered root; that was the only source of pain. He said they could "start there" but said they would have to remove the adult tooth there as well and that I could do that for just around 600. I calmly told him I'll call him in a week. (Not.) My girlfriend referred me to her dentist in Sanford. They looked at it, numbed me up and took the shard out in 10 minutes the same day. I paid 50 bucks and went on my merry way. Aspen seems to be covering the expense of their free exams by selling patients procedures they don't need at prices they can't afford. Don't ever give them your business, stick to your local family dentists.
