Our mission is the advancement of the Christian religion in accordance with the beliefs and teachings of the Assyrian Church of the East.
Mar Yosip Parish is part of the Assyrian Church of the East, Diocese of California in the United States. This parish was initially established by men and women of Assyrian descent. Today, Mar Yosip Parish consists of approximately 500 families who also reflect a great diversity of backgrounds and religious traditions of origin.
The Assyrian Church of the East has her origin with Jesus Christ, and in the Apostolic Community called into being by Jesus Christ, and enlivened by the Holy Spirit. The Feast of Pentecost, which is celebrated fifty days after Easter, commemorates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and marks the beginning of the mission of the Church to the world. The Assyrian Church of the East believes that she has maintained a direct and unbroken continuity of love, faith, and order with the Church of Christ born in the Pentecost experience. As the matter of fact, the Assyrian Church of the East still uses in all the church services the Aramaic Language, the language that Jesus spoke and parts of the scriptures were written.
Our mission is the advancement of the Christian religion in accordance with the beliefs and teachings of the Assyrian Church of the East. As a church family and as a Christian community our mission is to, actively bring Christ into our life.
