It was a long tine since I had been to Athens, but remember it being good food. Recently took my family there prior to a show and was saddened to be served frozen/microwaved or reheated, bland food. The roasted chicken tasted like it was cooked, frozen and reheated. Prime rib was rubbery, lamb chops burnt so crispy there was nothing left to really eat and the "fresh" salmon was more chewy than the steak. Maybe the chef had a bad night, but I will never return. Sad to see a fond childhood memory has come to this...new fresh food needed to revive this place. On the positive side, the interior looked fresh and nicely painted.

In the long-time past and flat-out refused service and entered and all in unison, "We do not have what you want." and patronize this merchant and you do at your own risk... I just notified the Mayor's Office under the heading of complaint and it was a few years back and I suffer from major depression, too. One-Star --> Patronage definitely not Two-Star --> Patronage probably not and watch-out for capricious patronage... Three-Star --> A-OK --> No complaints Four-Star --> Aficionado ->very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about an activity, subject, or pastime: Five-Star --> Always till now first-best with pending disappointment...

The food is plentiful and delicious!!!! Portions are like no other restaurant! No leaving this “Greek delight” feeling hungry, enough food left for the next day’s lunch or dinner!! Friendly atmosphere - the Hostess and waitresses Rock!!!! As a native “new yawker” who has been to many Greek restaurants in Manhattan and Astoria, nothing compares to the Athens!!! I highly recommend to those looking for a place for a first date, a family lunch or dinner, or even to celebrate a special occasion!!!!! As the Greeks say “Opa”

I friggen looooove this place!!!! You can't get this food anywhere else in the country!! In the 15 years I've been coming here I've never been disappointed. I don't know what I will ever do When they decide to sell the place and retire on a beach somewhere. Hopefully we get many more years before then. I just tried the, newly added to the menu, salmon. Wwwoooowwwww!!!! I usually don't order salmon when I go out because I'm very picky about my salmon. However, I know anything the guys in that kitchen get their hands on will come out amazing. Once again they have gone above and beyond. Thank you to the Athens crew. Food and service is always 2nd to none, and my "fish fridays" for the rest of lent are going to be a breeze. Oh, I forgot to add, this John Fitzgerald guy a couple reviews before mine... Im sorry to say you're obviously delusional and should not be allowed to rate every business in your city with your weirdo shenanigans. I was shocked to see your review, till I saw you've "notified the mayors office" about 60 something other businesses recently. God bless you.
