Story

Located in the center of the soaring atrium of the Putnam Park Building is our exciting little gem, The Atrium Café and Bar. It’s a full-service, cozy, and comfortable spot, a little off the beaten path, but totally convenient to everywhere. It’s the ideal place to pop in for a quick lunch and perfect for a stopover on your way south out of Hartford for a Happy Hour cocktail, glass of Chardonnay or an IPA, a bite of dinner or a quick snack. Come join us! We look forward to serving you!

Our sister restaurant, River: A Waterfront Restaurant and Bar, is an upcoming 300 seat restaurant featuring a wood-fired oven, an outdoor deck, and beautiful views for everyone in the restaurant. It is currently under construction and will be OPENING THIS FALL!

Edit: I would not recommend bringing a large group here as there is usually only two people running the place. Perfect date place, but keep in mind, it's not very big. Original post: Excellent service, food, and environment. Ordered some wings and a sandwich, both were excellent. Was seated right away. Food came out timely. The staff, all of them, were incredibly charming and it shows with the crowd this place attracts. Everyone was very approachable and friendly and we met a few locals. Pretty good selection of beers, not all of it on tap though. City Steam, Stony Creek, and Hooker are the only tap choices, but for such a small place, its understandable. Large bottle selection. Happy hour 4-7pm. Food from local farms. The Atrium Cafe has better food and prices than Lucky Lou's. Definitely worth checking this place out.

OMG. Great restaurant. We'll become regular patrons here. The food is fantastic. Desserts are home made delights. Adding a huge restaurant in back Over looking the river.

Found Atrium Café and Bar online and visited same day. Planned to have beverage and leave, but changed our minds after chatting with restaurant manager, Elizabeth aka Lizzie. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our meals - exquisite and not overpriced! Information learned - priceless! Lizzie gave us the grand tour of the new, bigger and better Atrium / River, to be unveiled within the next two months or less. Located in the same building, it abuts a picturesque section of the Connecticut River; replete with state-of-the-art indoor accommodations; patio overlooking the river; menu rivaling NYC cuisine and so much more, make River a force soon to be reckoned. All the panache of a 5 Star establishment without the hassle and expense of city dining. And there is more. Everything from the building it’s housed to all the key players is a Family Affair.

Very cool seating and a great menu. As of this writing 11/13/17 they are expanding and renovating and it appears that it's going to be amazing!

Extremely friendly and responsive staff and management. I really liked the garlic shrimp salad and pumpkin tiramisu. There are trees growing in the restaurant.
