Family owned diner serving classic diner food made fresh with lots of specials featuring seasonal, vegetarian and Polish delights!

Story

Town native, Stacey Pribyson started working in restaurants at a young age. When the historic Wethersfield Diner became vacant, she jumped at the chance to bring a town landmark back to life. With the assistance of her husband Wil, support from her mother, Janice Pribyson, in memory of her father, Richard Pribyson and with the help of many other friends and family, she embarked on bringing the diner back to life.

After a major renovation and update, the diner has a fresh clean feel while retaining the classic charm. The focus is on classic diner food, made fresh, with lots of specials featuring seasonal, vegetarian and Polish delights.

The Pribyson’s are excited to return home and re introduce The Wethersfield Diner to the community. We look forward to seeing and feeding you!

My wife and I used to love coming to the diner until last week when we came in for breakfast. The waitress gave us the menus and told us she would be back in a moment with our beverages. A gentleman came in about 5-6 minutes later and sits at the counter. She comes out of the kitchen and quickly assists him without a menu. My guess is he already knew what he wanted. She takes his order,goes into the kitchen, comes out and serves him coffee. Meanwhile, we're still waiting for our drinks. She finally brings them out. Now she took our orders. After 15 minutes go by, she comes out with the man who is at the counter with his order. The diner wasn't really too busy,so why are we still waiting? She steps back in the kitchen and comes out with a few meals in her hands. We assumed two of them were ours but were not. She goes back behind the counter again still ignoring us. The least she could have done was give us a refill on the coffee and tell us it should be any minute for our order.She didn't! After 5 more minutes go by, my wife and I decide to leave. Once we got up, she then tells us it's coming out. We said keep it.  I had to get back to work and could not keep waiting.  Don't get me wrong, we've had good service in the past from the other waitresses, but not the case last week. The food is good, but I think they should offer dill pickles. Sweet pickles are good, but more people prefer dill.  To prove my point, most restaurants use dill...Hopefully this can be looked into and not have this happen to anybody else.

Delicious comfort food, friendly staff, great pricing. They don't skimp on portion size! You  certainly get your money's worth. Only open a few nights for dinner, but their dinners are fantastic!!

I do not recommend and why:
They come across as a gourmet restaurant and serve half a meal.

I ordered an open roast beef sandwich, and when it came out it was one slice of bread possibly two slices of roast beef Deli end 4 oz of mashed potatoes and I could probably count the string beans they put on my plate.

We especially love to go to the diner for breakfast.  Always greeted with a smile and warm welcome from all the staff. It is a nice place for families and friends to start their day with great tasting food and lots of it. A variety of items to choose.  Coffee is also very good.
