Aztec Animal Hospital is a dedicated to giving compassionate and comprehensive care to your cats and dogs. We focus on the different needs of our clients. Our mission is to provide the highest level of quality medical care for pets and provide friendly service to our clients.
We offer a full scope of veterinary services and care for your pets. With our modern facility we offer Radiology, Blood Pressure Monitor and EKG technology, we are confident we will give you our high quality veterinary services. We can diagnose and treat your pet’s health problem quickly because we have In-house diagnostic equipment. In just a couple of minutes, we can easily determine if your pet has intestinal parasites, liver disease, kidney problem, and many other organ problems.
Regular routine visits can help protect your pet from getting any diseases. We have a fully stocked pharmacy on site to help treat the necessary symptoms and issues that can affect your pet. We have vaccinations, fecal testing, heartworm, Tick Fever testing, Lyme disease testing, feline leukemia, FIV testing, Micro chipping, Spays, Neuters, Dentals, valley fever testing and more. If I could rate a zero, I would. I came here for a simple check up on my dog and to check on his teeth because it looked like there was something stuck in his back gums. When I got there, the receptionist wasn't too friendly but everyone has their days . She didn't ask for my dog's medical history which I found weird. Figured that what they need to do didn't need anything that required his medical history. She took me back to the examination room and the vet came in and couldn't find the object in his gums. I had to point it out to them. Then they took my dog out of the room and I waited about ten minutes for them to come back in and tell me it'd cost over 200. Surprised, I didn't argue because my dog is worth it. About five minutes pass and the receptionist comes back to tell me my dog would wake from the anesthetics after ten minutes. I hadn't given permission for them to use anesthesia but just wanted my dog in my arms. I waited for a half hour before they told me to come back in a couple hours because he wasn't waking up. I asked if they had my number to call me and they said they did. They never called so I came in again and two hours later. My dog was awake and they gave me vague instructions on how he'd be after anesthesia. My dog still hasn't recovered fully because he has liver shunts. Had they known, they wouldn't have given him anesthesia because liver shunts mixed with anesthesia can be deadly. I'm watching my dog closely now but please don't take your dogs or cats here if you want service where they care about your family member....

Do not use this vet for any kind of health vaccinations, or pet travel documents. Very unprofessional culture at this practice. Originally scheduled a preliminary visit at 5:30pm to get the (somewhat rare coronavirus vaccine) and to ensure all vaccinations for travel have been made. The assistant did a quick check-up weight, temperature, reviewed shot records, etc. and made us wait approximately 45 minutes for the vet to come. He quickly inspected the dog and said all vaccines are current (no coronavirus shot needed), without even seeing the paperwork! After paying $55, we reviewed the report that was incorrectly filled out (missing sections, etc.) and had to call to ask for the coronavirus vaccine. The same assistant said she doesn't have the coronavirus vaccine and will have to call me back after checking with the doctor. There was no phone call and she couldn't even recall our visit the prior day! Going to a different vet to complete the shot and all travel due diligence items! Should ask for my money back, but dont have the time to deal with the clueless receptionist/assistant!

Actually not even a 1 star, 0 stars is too much! I received a free appt coupon, so I made an appointment for 330pm 1/18/17. Wow were going be late so I called, but then things changed again and we ended up there early like 325pm. Get put in a room, 330pm, girl said someone would be in a minute. Creeping up at 4pm, no show yet, Mom and I agreed at 4pm, we would leave. Well 4 pm came and we left!!!!! 100% WASTE OF MY TIME!!!!! I should send you a bill for wasting my time!!!! I WILL NEVER GO TO AZTEC ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN SCOTTSDALE, AZ AGAIN!!!!!

Dr Florez is very good at what he does. Worth noting is that the pricing is expensive for services and prescriptions.

I took my pit bull here to get neutered and everything went just fine. Very friendly staff in spite of my dog barking non stop. I've been to other clinics and this is one of the best I've been to. The doctors seem to actually take the time and be gentle, which gives me a lot of reassurance. Also it seems very common to go places and have all these unnecessary tests and meds pushed on you which didn't happen here. I'm making a return visit soon.
