The best place in NE Ohio to get all of your backpacking and camping needs. The service and customer support is why my husband and I keep coming back, along with the high quality and durability of the items sold here. From hiking shoes to tents to packs each store attendant can go into crazy detail listing out pros and cons of each item and making sure you get exactly what you need. Plus, the store is just fun to browse through. Support a local business that takes care of their customers in ways the big box stores never will.

The staff is very kind and welcoming! I never once felt overwhelmed or pressured to make a purchase by the staff, which I highly appreciate in a store like this! They also have a great selection of gear and competitive prices as well. Support small business and check this place out! Edit: 12-16-17 Came back up to the store because they didn't have the sheath for an axe I had purchased during their black Friday sale and it had finally arrived. While looking at a few things throughout the store an older gentleman basically shadowed me and my 6 year old son through every section of the store. Since finding out about this store only 2 months ago I have spent upwards of $500 here and while I love supporting smaller businesses like this, I do not appreciate the feeling of being treated like a potential thief. I would recommend to the owners to buy more cameras if your worried about potential theft, but being followed around throughout the entire store by the same worker isn't very welcoming.

I first visited this store in the year of 1967 and bought a canoe and thats was the beginning of a still ongoing relationship with the owner. He does his father proud and what a gentle man he was. How was I to know that "Ohio Canoe" would change its name and become a world class outfitter. I miss the original atmosphere where hunting stories could be told but time has not diminished this family run business that only sells quality and an occasional bargain.

The staff is always eager to help and incredibly friendly. They don't try to force and sell you stuff and they provide recommendations based on your needs rather than the most expensive option they have. They carry a wide variety of options, jackets from your typical Northface to Arc'teryx, backpacks from high Sierra to Ospreys, and accessories like roof racks and backpacking gears. Anything you're looking for the outdoor adventure, you'll find it here or they can order it for you. Highly recommend this place for any outdoor explorers.

Friendly and helpful staff!! The shop is filled with all your essentials and a whole lot more! We happened to show up on their grill day. Delicious burger, chips and keg for those 21 and up. I was very impressed with the staff! Every section of the store had someone to help if needed. You could tell these people have a passion for what they do as well. We will be back for sure!
