The book store that has all things for all people.  One of the quintessentially Austin places that is still around.  Two levels of books, a coffee shop, tons of author events with names big and small, and a helpful, knowledgeable staff.  These days I come with my kids and they love the kids area on the second floor with the tunnel you can climb through under the seating area.  Tip: don't forget to sign your kids up for the birthday club, they will mail you a  gift card each year for your birthday and that's more than enough for a child's book.  Lots of cute gift items that are not books as well ocal artists, kitschy silly stuff, greeting cards, etc.. Great people watching too.
