The Last Bookstore truly lives up to it's name. It is truly the bastion of a well curated independent bookstore. If you are visiting LA or have been a long time resident this is a must visit. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The selection is second to none. It's a fantastic place to visit. A word to the wise, parking on the street in front of the store is tow away between the hours of 3 and 7 pm. Plan accordingly.

A must see if you’re in town. The first floor feels cool and all, but then the upstairs is amazing and it just keeps going and going!! Most of the books that weren’t used were v expensive but the used ones I could find were well priced. A good selection on feminism and history and they even have a rare book annex. Don’t skip the upstairs! It has some awesome stuff and picture moments.

Went here for their vinyl records - and while the selection was pretty good, I found the prices for new releases on the high side compared to other L.A. area record stores I frequent. It's also not clear to me if they clean the used vinyl before they place those records in bins. Worth noting though is the bargain bins up against the windows.  Worth a browse of you're in DTLA, but I wouldn't go put of my way for it.

Though the vinyl section is a bit underwhelming, I'm rating this place 4 stars because the book part makes up for the music part of the store.

I've been coming to The Last Book Store for about 5 years now. Weekends attract a lot more people so typically I prefer to go on weekdays. It's a pretty big bookstore and while a lot of books are brand new and full price they also have a lot of used copies that are great steals. Back in high school when we had to read "The Turn of the Screw" I found a used copy for $0.25. Also if you like to collect vinyls they sell them at the bottom level. At the top level they have this really cool tunnel thing made out of book.

I just happened to see it on an episode of Love right before my trip to LA. Very cool bookstore with a nice collection of records as well. They sell used and new records and books and we found some bargains. Also just kind of neat to look around the place.
