The drive-thru is obnoxiously slow. You can sit in the line and watch these girls from your car and see they like talking to each other more than doing their job. Inside isn't much better... and don't worry about leaving your job early to make it to the bank in time, they shutter up by 4. I thought normal banking hours were 9-5?! They are more frustration than I feel they are worth, which is why I use Wells Fargo now.

Background: I'm a small business owner, a publisher. My acc't began in 1987, with the Bank of Maryland. BOA bought out MNBA after the crash of '08. I always pd my account -- sometimes a little late due to being busy, but always the full amount owed, plus interest. The last BOA phone-robot answered my acct questions: I had $3100+ in credit and over 600,000+ travel points.[BOA had earlier notified their customers that points would be honored.] The shock: On Fri, Sept 13, my printer phoned to say my shipment of books was ready to send after they rec'd the final pmt of $3300+ -- routine requirement in the publishing industry. I needed those books ASAP and wanted them to be on the road on Fri, so decided to pay by credit card because an overnight check wouldn't arrive till Monday. I contacted BOA to see what my credit standing was that day, and learned that I owed abouat $250, not due yet. On the spot I paid the total amt direct from my bank, explaining that I wanted the printing company to be able to charge the bill to my card, and I needed to know if BOA would up my credit by $200 so my card could be accepted by the printer that afternoon. I figured that being without a penny of debt would increase my credit line by $200. The BOA woman on the phone refused my request. She said my husband and I were 5 months behind on our mortgage pmts to Chase Bank, and therefore I was a bad credit risk. I explained that wasn't true-- we'd just had our mortgage reduced, and no one pays the mortgage while that 5-month process is underway -- you wouldn't know how much to pay. I explained that Chase had amortized the "missing months" into our new payment schedule, which had just then approved. The woman seemed not to believe me, refused to check into it, and refused my request. Shocked, I went to the P.O. to send the "overnight" check. The clerk put my card thru the device. My card didn't work! My account had been closed! Fortunately I had the cash. About 2 weeks later I rec'd the Sept BOA statement, saying I had $3,600 in credit (the exact amount I wanted that earlier Friday!), and it included an additional $25 for an auto-billing incurred several days after the closure of my acct! Their error! I was outraged, after the great difficulty they caused me -- closing my only credit card -- my lifeline - and leaving me without a card when I had a trip scheduled. I couldn't bring myself to pay that lousy $25. Now, the Oct BOA statement says I owe $52+ (double the Sept amt). So I suppose they will keep billing me, and doubling the amt each month, but they won't honor their stated credit line. They won't talk to me: they're rigged not to unless you have an account. No doubt they've stolen my points. This is not a bank for small business in America. It is a robot mega force for greed. Small businesses: be warned. Don't deal with Bank of America. My friendly local bank, knowing my true financial status, has issued me a Visa card.
