In my quest to teach my daughter's about money, finances, and maintaining healthy and successful business relationships we dropped in this Bank of America branch to open her very first checking account. We were aligned with Jennifer Copeland a personal banker. She was colorful and had a grumpy cat picture in her office (😻) Perfect! She opened my eldest daughter's account quickly and sent us home. The very next week we stopped back at the branch to open an account for my 2nd daughter. This branch is not our local branch and is a bit of a drive, but my daughter liked her so much that she cried and begged until I gave in. We scheduled an appointment to return later in the afternoon. When we returned later, we were 10 min late and Jennifer was sitting in the lobby chatting with a customer. My daughters' down next to her waiting staring with excitement. Jennifer never once acknowledged my children or my presence, she continued to chat with the customer for an additional five to seven minutes, stood up and walked away to retrieve the branch manager. The branch manager informed us that Jennifer would no longer be able to assist us and we would need to reschedule. I can accept that we were tardy, and would need to reschedule. I cannot accept that she didn't have the decency to acknowledge our presence. It cost her absolutely nothing to say hi to just my children. This same quest led to a deeper conversation with my daughter's about doing business with people that treat you with dignity and respect. These girls could be the next Ellen, Oprah, President or anything their hearts desire. We withdrew her money promptly and left with tears streaming down my girls' faces.

This is literally the worst BofA branch I have ever encountered. The front counter staff are cold, sarcastic, and unhelpful. I went in to have an overdraft fee reversed and the banker I worked with completely changed my checking account (apparently my old checking account type no longer existed) without even informing me that I would be charged a monthly maintenance fee despite having direct deposit. I was told my direct deposit would waive the fee, but then two weeks later it showed up on my statement. First maintenance fee I've been charged in 5 years of banking here, with 4 years of direct deposit. Additionally, the banker pressured me into applying for a credit card I was sure I wouldn't get approved for and didn't even want. I'm pretty sure they get a commission for signing people up for credit cards, since I used to know a banker who told me they always try to upsale you on their "services" for this reason. In short, I had to spend half an hour on the phone with a customer service rep to get some idiot banker's mistakes reversed and have my account fixed. And they reversed the maintenance fee "as a courtesy to me." Excuse me? I don't think I should be paying for somebody else's stupidity. Will never go to this branch again and will probably just close my account and switch to US Bank.

Bank of America on 122nd & Sunnyside always has a familiar staff with a friendly smile. The lines are never long and when there is a problem they make sure and get it taken care of with you ASAP, not leaving you to feel like you are stuck dealing with all the red tape that many of their other branches can frustrate you with.
