This is by far the worst clinic I have ever been to in my life! I guess I could start at the beginning with my feelings that they doctors and nurses treat you less like a person and more of an object they have to deal with. As a patient, you are not assigned a doctor or even given the option to have your own doctor. The doctors rotate with you, thus not exactly making you feel like any one of them really know you. After leaving this clinic I have met other mothers that went there that felt the same. Now on to my personal experience. Beyond the feeling mentioned above I had numerous issues with this clinic. At 16 weeks pregnant I took a quad screen test for genetic disorders in the baby. I was called the next day to be told that the blood work was sent to the wrong lab, and asked if I could come in to retake it. I asked if I could just retake it at my next appointment which was at 20 weeks. (keep in mind I did not know that the longer you wait, the higher the risk of a false positive. I only learned that after this whole experience) The nurse said yes. That was it. No warning of a false positive. At 20 weeks I went in to get my ultrasound done and expected to redo my quad screen test the next day when the doctor would give me the results of the ultrasound (why they did it this way is beyond me). The next day I went in to see the doctor when she told me there was an echogenic intracardiac focus on the heart (there have been multiple tests done on babies with echogenic intracardiac focus, studies are not conclusive as after they are born the focus cannot be found) and that they never got the test results of my quad screen but my baby might have down syndrome. I told her the story about my quad screen and that she had to do it again. They did. Two days late I receive a phone call telling me that my baby was positive for trysomy 18 (Edwards syndrome) and that it is fatal and we needed to discuss abortion, but I was set up to see a specialist in 4 weeks. I was given this information over the phone, without warning. I went to see this specialist and he was amazing. Went through everything with my husband and I. We discover that our baby had no signs whatsoever of trysomy 18 and that he was perfectly healthy. We were also informed by this specialist that quad screens give percentages of the possibility of a genetic disorder. Ours was 3%. My doctor never told me this. Not once. The specialist said he was surprised that they didn't tell that and said that we wouldn't have been so scared if we had known the percentage. When I pressed the clinic for information as to why they never told me the percentage she said that was not important. After this I decided that I needed to go to the doctor that I had with my first born. She is amazing. She asked me to have them send over my file and she would be happy to take me. I did. 2 weeks ago I am told by my current doctor that she never received the blood work for me. I had to go to this horrible clinic and ask them to fax it over. They said they would. Yesterday I went to my next appointment expecting everything to be taken care of. Of course not. They never sent it. Now here we are on this day. Today. I go to the clinic one last time and asked them to give me my entire file in my hand. I am tired of dealing with them and just want my file to take to my doctor. They tell me that they have to charge me for it. When I at least get my blood labs that I desperately needed I ask if it got sent to the wrong lab. They kicked me out. I really don't even know how this place is still open. What they do for a living is deal with people. and not just people, pregnant people that need to feel secure with the doctor they are seeing. Women who are pregnant and just want the best start for their child should never have to put up with this kind of scare. I recommend going anywhere else. This clinic does not have your best interest whatsoever.
