Only reason I give it two stars is because of a lady in front office. I Can't remember her name but if it weren't for her this school wouldn't get any stars. My child went from having good grades at another Rancho Cucamonga school to failing at Banyan. The teacher my child had I felt didn't give a crap about her students. There's no reason why my child went from getting B's to getting D-'s and F's.

It wasn't until after I left and went to Vineyard that I realized how terrible it was. I had so many issues with teachers there, they just don't understand children or have any patience (I'm not speaking for all teachers, just around 5 that I've had while going here...) There was an unforgettable time where I was upset over a fellow student calling me a swear word and when I told my dad as soon as school ended, he walked with me to the office to tell the office lady. One of my teachers that year was LISTENING to our conversation (she didn't overhear, she purposely turned to hear us) and the next day, I go back to school glad that the situation is settled. But no, apparently it wasn't, because all of the 6th grade teachers (about 5 of them) literally surrounded me at recess (formed a CIRCLE around me) and kept asking "Why didn't you tell one of us right away? Why did you tell your dad first instead of telling us, huh?" and continued to pressure me into apologizing or whatever sick thing they wanted to get out of me. When they were finished harassing me and I was in tears, they proceeded to hassle the other student in front of the whole grade, causing him to cry as well. Way to make A SCENE. Another incident was in the fifth grade when a teacher was teaching math that I had understood. I made the awful decision of working ahead while she was teaching the class. She saw me, walked up to my desk in front of the class, and this lady ripped the paper out from under my hands and threw it away. She made me go in the quad, mortified, to do the rest of my work. My fourth grade teacher was in there doing something, saw me CRYING, and what did she say to the other teacher? "Oh, great. What did she do now?" ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE. This is not even the worst incidents. We had to go to the school district over a teacher. I was nervous because a girl threatened to beat me up over a stupid reason, told the proctor, the proctor blamed it on me. I got yelled at so many times, that I believe it may have even been the cause of my shyness and insecurity. It made me extremely mad to write this review, thinking of all the teachers. It is absolutely disgusting how alone and sad this school made me. Now a junior in high school, I wish they could see me now, how far I've come. It was from these experiences that I learned to be more independent, and to stick up for myself. However, it was a terrible experience that nobody should go through, and I advise you to send your children elsewhere.

This is by far my worst 2 years at this school....ever since the school hired a new principle on, my experience here has been horrid....they are beyond ridiculous with their policies and today was the straw that broke the camels back....my son had thrown up the night before because he had thai food, we knew why he threw up and his stomach was kind of off, and he was ok in the morning So we brought him to school....they told me u was unable to let him stay due to the fact that the school has a policy that if the kid has been vomiting he cannot stay....mind u he just threw up the one time...i mentioned this and the fact that he dsnt have a fever means it's not illness....they didn't care and sent him home....how in the hell are we supposed to have a clear no absence record for idiotic crap like this???? I'm tired of this school and the only reason my son still goes here is because he has friends he lives dearly....u cannot wait until he transitions to middle school....in the meantime I have filed a complaint with the alta loma school district
