Known as the highest outdoor rooftop bar in NYC, Bar 54 lives up to the hype. The view is stunning from all angles of the bar as you see many famous parts of the NYC skyline, Central Park, and Times Square. The ambiance is upscale with music at a low volume, restaurant seating, and an elegant atmosphere. Staff is friendly and attentive. We chose to sit at the bar and the bartender was good with maintaining a conversation and having a light-hearted mood. Seating is limited so I would suggest getting there early or coming on a weeknight. They are also very strict with the age policy and will not allow anyone under the age of 21 to enter. Prices are more on the expensive side, but they seem worth it, especially for the view and quality of service. I did not get to try the food but would come back to enjoy a dinner and some drinks with family or friends. 5/5 stars!
Is it a nice rooftop patio....yes. Are there better rooftops in Manhattan... ABSOLUTELY! It's small and cozy, but the view of Times Square is overrated and highly obstructed by the roof tops angle. The drinks $25 and food are pricey, but you pay for the experience. We tried the flat bread. It was average at best and looked a little smaller than what I have ordered in other restaurants Service was warm, professional, and welcoming but not above average. Also, there is an automatic 18% gratuity concluded in your bill. Nonetheless, it's another check mark off our list. Cocktails and a flatbread, including 18% and taxes =$91
We were staying at the Hyatt Centric and visited this bar, I would recommend reserving a table if you want to make sure you get an outside table. This is without doubt one of the best bars we had been to, Nico the bar manager was very knowledgeable and the rest of the staff were so accommodating. My wife and I aren’t drinkers but the mocktails we had were very good and overall cost was a very pleasant surprise. I would definitely recommend this bar to anyone who wants keenly priced drinks with a fantastic view.
Overall this is a great place. The views are amazing, drinks are delicious, and small bites compliment them well. The atmosphere is relaxed yet playful all at once and the staff here are very friendly, kind, and go out of their way to ensure you have a positive experience. Shout out to Justin and Christina. They went above and beyond to provide the highest quality of service and hospitality. I definitely recommend this place. It's a great spot to chill with friends or relax after a long day with drinks and great views of the city.
As the name would suggest, this rooftop bar is located on the 54th floor, so it is fairly high, but not the tallest. We went on a Sunday night just after 11 PM, which might explain why business was a bit slow, although the fact that only one of the three elevators worked might have also contributed to that fact: after waiting almost 15 minutes in the lobby, during which time several people decided to leave, we were finally directed to the service elevator and entered the bar through the kitchen which was very clean by the way. From there, we made our way to the host, who then sat us at a nice table with a beautiful view. But even though the place was supposed to close at midnight, we were greeted with "last call". The person who took our order disappeared with our credit card never to be seen again. Another server checked on us once, and a third closed out our check and brought our credit card back. Service was not bad, per se, it was just unusually anonymous and strangely impersonal. A glass of wine is $16 to $20, Cocktails are around $25, which is not bad for such a place in the middle of NYC, and they are absolutely delicious. We ordered two cocktails, took some pictures on the terrace overlooking the city, stayed about an hour and had a really nice time.
We were two, the viewpoint was amazing and the cocktails truly amazing. As you can expect: 4 cocktails and an aperitive platter cost us around $200. That's still cheaper than the empire state viewpoint though, and you're sitting there with a drink.Food: 5/5
Music was great: afrobeats We were sitting inside due to the bad wearher conditions; aperol spritz and moscow mule were fine.. sat for a while & then left Views are nice too
The rooftop was absolutely amazing...we showed up after the kitchen was closed but had drinks. The view was beautiful & the atmosphere was very sophisticated & classy.Service: 5/5
Chic rooftop bar atop the Hyatt. We were post-show looking for drinks and light apps, with a view and this delivered. A decent selection of house cocktails, standard wines and a handful of beers with a solid hard liquor list. Our server was amazing and took great care of us. Even though the kitchen had just closed he was able to get us a cold platter. The view from the deck has many icons of midtown like Empire State, and to the south to Freedom Tower.
I went to drink cocktails and have some bite in the City with my friend. We ordered the Octopus which was amazing picture attached and ordered a few drinks. Our favourite was the "Forbiden Fruit". Service was fast and friendly. They are making renovation on the balcony which I believe will level up this place.Food: 5/5
