Story

Since 2005, McNulty's Bier Markt has served Belgian Bier, Local Craft Beer and Modern Italian food 364 days a year until 2am. Both the Food Network and Zagat have called our thin-crust pizza the "Best in Ohio." Our bar and patio are both dog-friendly. And on weekends, enjoy DJ's and dancing in Speakeasy, our lower level Prohibition era cocktail lounge. Prost!

So why Belgian beer, you ask?

The small country of Belgium produces the most varied and numerous collection of premium beer in the world. And we aren't the only ones that think that Belgium also produces some of the best beer in the world. The styles range from pale lagers to lambics fermented with wild yeasts. The brewing tradition in Belgium dates back to the Middle Ages when monasteries began producing beers. There are approximately 125 breweries in the country producing over 1000 brands and styles.

Virtually every Belgian beer has a branded glass. Beyond the basic shape of the glass (wide-mouth goblet, curvaceous tulip glass, tall pilsener, etc), each glass is imprinted with a logo or name. The brewery selects a glass form to accentuate certain qualities of their beer. A goblet, for example, lets the drinker's nose inhale the beer's aroma at the same time the mouth is drinking in the liquid. A tulip glass, for example, is very good for foam retention.
