We went here for family dinner. Some of our party were vegetarian and, while the options are somewhat limited, they really enjoyed their meal. The meat eaters were even more satisfied. The steak was cook perfectly with a tender, with a nice charred exterior. Easily one of the best steaks I've had.

Great brunch food and service. Good location. This place is always busy, even during the week. I would recommend it for brunch and definitely will return for dinner.

Great, laid-back vibe. Excellent service (though a bit slow when busy or during happy hour - they may possibly be understaffed). Drinks and food are fantastic, and it's one of the few places that does happy hour on weekends too!

I went to Bar Charley with 2 friends for dinner last week and had a mixed experience.  The steaks we ordered were very good, but the fries were limp and soggy.  The reason I am rating this experience as a '2' is that we were seated next to the back patio doors and could see 2 rats running about.  They were climbing up into what looked to be a smoker, and then running under the tables to a spot under a stand.  Back and forth they went over and over again.  The server didn't seem at all bothered by this.  I don't know how common rats are in D.C., so maybe people tend to overlook this sort of thing, but the rats rather ruined my appetite.

This is our favorite brunch spot. The food is always great, and so are the drinks. Best chicken and waffles in DC.
