My favorite beach of all was Vanderbilt Beach until I visited the Barefoot Beach County Preserve. I loved it there. Spacious beach. Great for shell collecting. Water depth increases much faster than Vanderbilt Beach.

Lovely beach. Turtles everywhere - drive carefully. Lots of birds to spot, and we even saw a couple of  dolphins near the shore

Not really impressed. You do have to drive through some really cool houses to get to the beach access but that's the best part. The beach is all shells and very difficult to walk on.

Get here early, pay 8$ for parking, clean beach, decent water. Beats sitting in traffic on the fort Myers beach bridge. Ill take it.
