One of the few Barnes & Noble chain book store left in New York City located across from the NY Presbyterian-Methodist hospital in Brooklyn. This two floor bookstore offers an array of books for children and adults. It also has a Starbucks coffee counter and seating area. Go read, drink some coffee, and enjoy the atmosphere!

"These are few of my favorite things"
There is literally nothing better than going to Barnes Noble, grab your top three books, find a corner and read the first chapter of each one.  The best part of that experience is when you find the book that grabs you back.  You either smile, gasp or literally laugh out loud and everyone around you gives you the smirk. They know what just happened, you found the one!  

That's when you cash out and if your lucky, get a coupon to free items from the cafe.  It is one of the best "me" moments.  Oh yeah, for the kids too, lol.

I recently went to this Barnes and noble and purchased over $40 worth of books. I am a New York City pubic school teacher and i am also African American . When I went to the register to finalize my purchases I asked to sign up for a teacher discount card. I was asked to show my DOE id, which i did and after i did so i was then told that i needed to show more proof that i was a teacher. I then asked what more proof can i show and the women stated that i needed to show my email. Idk what an email was going to do but i showed her. I was told that this was policy and upon me speaking with other teacher who happen to not be African America. I was told that all they showed was their DOE id. I understand that a young African America. Woman teaching may seem taboo but i ask that i am given the same respect as white Americans and not profiled for asking for a discount. I plan on going back to speak to management so that i can be well informed on the policies.

I wish they had more helpers! But it's a great store and you can't beat the fact that Starbucks is at your disposal. What I suggest though is making sure that you have a sense of what youre going for. This is one of the smaller B&N's in Brooklyn. But it's in a great location so you can eat virtually anywhere and go to Grand Army plaza and enjoy the park soon after.

Great place to get toys and books for children. The staff is knowledgeable and I always ask for advice or help when looking for a book. They have great recommendations! The Barnes & Noble café (Starbucks) is a plus!
