Great work. a few bumps along the way but overall I am Happy

Nightmare !!! I cannot give them a low enough rating! They messed up about 50 things on our simple basement. It was like a full time job catching all their mistakes. It would have been easier to manage the sub contractors OURSELVES!!! It also took TWICE as long as they projected to finish. We lost a lot of rental income. 

Even the simplest request like what direction to lay the tile was done wrong by the general contractor, Gordon. He can't remember anything and refuses to write anything down! Not only were our requests done wrong every time, but also basic construction practices. The wall opening built for the fridge is too narrow for the fridge doors to open all the way. We can't pull it forward or else the oven doesn't open. Our exterior light fixture was not caulked so water leaked in and shorted the expensive fixture. When we contacted the general contactor and the owner numerous times to repair it within the 2 year warranty...never ever got a response back from either one!

We finished our in-laws basement using Basement Pro.

Con (one):
They take on other work so you may have to stay on top of deadlines. Not worth taking off a star since we weren't under a huge time constraint.

Pros (multiple):
Excellent work quality. We couldn't be happier with the way things look and feel. It was a complete mess when they came and it's been lived in for almost a year with no issues due to their work.

They are very reasonable on working with last-minute changes. We had a lot and they (Gordon, the gen. contractor) were very patient and did everything they could to make it what we wanted.

Willing to work on extras without charging an arm and leg more. I won't get into detail with this one, but it was extremely surprising and very positive.

Good at getting things reworked. We had a few of their subcontractors miss one or two things and after telling Gordon, he stepped on them to make sure their work got done and looked good. 

Overall:
No matter who you use to do anything in construction, you WILL run into snags. Don't look for a company that does things flawlessly. That's an impossible expectation. Instead, look for a company that will own up and try to help and fix when issues inevitably arise.

These guys COULD have gotten away with shortcuts and crappy work, but they did the opposite and we couldn't be happier. They take pride in their work. I absolutely recommend them.

Absolutely, dishonest and do not think for a minute they will come back and fix things. First off the project was supposed to be done in august and did not get done until end of November.. Well, the paint job that was supposed to be corrected as the ceiling in one of the rooms does not have enough paint on it and it shows. The light plates were installed crooked, then something as easy as tightening the pipe for the drain was not done causing a flood the first time that it was used. This flooded into are room with the new carpet. Don't have them lay tile or it is all off balance because they go the cheap way and do not sand down the floors. Whatever you do know that they do not come when they say they will be there. My new granite was installed with a chip in it and if you think that they will tell you about it, they wont you just find the mistkes.Be prepared that they have young boys helping to pull all the wires and doing the electrical, Ryan is out running around and this is Gordons son. Know JD and Gordon are so dishonest as Gordon came and picked up the balance   because they were threatening to send us to collection because we wanted the items corrected and promised at that time that Gordon would be back and that was 4 months ago. I cannot even get my paperwork to get my rebate for my insulation rebate for QUESTAR as Gordon held that over my head until the balance was paid, well balance paid and still no rebate information. Do yourself a favor use  someone else. Salem city had all the permits ready and the contractor blamed them for not being able to start the project and I called them to be told that they were approved and waiting for payment from basement pro. I really liked these guys and they flat out were dishonest and play you for a fool. Just so you know Gordon has different names for his companies as well. His son is the electrician. they didn't even fill in under our tub with concrete leaving a large hole, as large as the tub, walls were not straight, paint on the baseboards are awful.  My husband had to prove that the window sills and walls were framed off center by pulling out a level and with argument they agreed and corrected during the framing process. They don't even put the cap around the toilet hose making the wall look terrible.I will tell you that the texture looked good without problems. They were supposed to put dimmers on the light switch for all the lights in the family/game room, well they only put them on one set of lights. This has been terrible and we upgraded and was never afraid to pay more money. The ceiling fan cannot be placed in one of the rooms because they do not have a beam to hold the fan just the housing where it would go. They never installed the smoke/carbon monoxide detectors but we paid for them.  They think my husband was picky, but when you spend all this money on a basement over 2200 sq ft and they start off with walls and windows not being leveled and as you go see other issues and it takes many months with poor communication.. I have text messages going from june 2016 through current and we do not have any of the items corrected. Save your money and your frustration and use someone who is honest and timely who will not take advantage of you. I really wished that they did not do this to me and my family as I really was charmed by them and defended them to my husband to only be burned.
