Story

Our idea of cuisine is that it should be reflective of the ingredients that make it up. We are blessed with a bounty of amazing local produce, and take advantage of this at every turn, from our rooftop garden and aviary to our partnerships with local farmers, foragers and fishermen. Jason Stoneburner, our Executive Chef, has learned French technique from some of the best in the world. We are proud to present his balanced recipe of equal parts tradition, innovation and careful sourcing.

Amazing experience from appetizers to dessert. Bastille Day was extra special with the roast pig and burlesques show. The food is divine, unique and ever changing by the season. The meats are all locally or conscientiously sourced and you can feel it in the dish. Every ingredient is so pure and fresh! The roof top boasts a garden to lend to most of the dishes. Vegetables, herbs, flowers, honey bees, and even space to dine.... this rooftop is unlike any around. Summer rooftop dinner series is a must!

Fabulous visit at Bastille today. Had delicious brunch with my family. Our server was the friendliest man you will ever meet. Recommending things from the menu and laughing with us. The challah french toast with rhubarb was the best french toast I've had in a while. I recommended Portage Bay potatoes over the ones here, but these are still pretty great. The kids portions are spot on and the adults sizes are also manageable. Never been here for brunch before but I will come again!! Amazing visit, highly recommended if you're in Ballard!

I have never not ordered at a restaurant regardless of less-than-great service, but this was the first time that the service was so poor that my group left the restaurant. I organized a surprise party for my friend, and the restaurant informed me that I could not have more than 12 guests as they were accommodating a larger party that night. That wasn't a problem, as I tried to ensure that we would have no more than 12 guests. The night of, they called to ask how many of us to expect. I told them I wasn't entirely sure as some people had said maybe, but I let them know it would definitely not be more than 12. At the restaurant, there ended up being 8 of us and they made a huge deal out of us not having twelve. Twice the waiter made remarks similar to 'it would have been nice to call us beforehand and let us know' or 'next time, let us know.' The manager eventually came over and asked if we were still expecting 12, to which we replied 'sorry, I think this is actually all of us due to some people cancelling last minute.' They replied 'Well, that's a bummer. We were expecting to have 12 of you. Next time, let us know there will be less of you.' It was uncomfortable, and when we offered to move the smaller table on the end since there was less of us, they acted like it was impossible to move it from where our location was. We paid for our appetizers and left. If it would've been busy, or if people were waiting for tables, I would have understood. But there were still a good amount of us there who were wanting to pay for dinner and dessert, and there was no line at the door or on the list. I've never had such rude customer service!

We don't go enough but every time we go, we love it! The food is excellent! The service is perfectly attentive. The Som gives the best advice. The patio is great! We've been for both dinner and brunch and always leave wanting to come back asap.

The atmosphere here is perfect - great brunch vibe. Friendly staff and delicious food.
