Excellent place to just leave modern civilization behind for a day. Great programs to get involved in for people of all ages from young kids to seniors. I used to take my daughter there to canoe, stream pollution monitoring and a couple times a month, especially during a full moon lead by a park ranger, they do a 4 mile night hike where they stop by Native American burial mounds and give a brief background on the mounds, who built them and what some of the things that had been excavated, examined, documented and put right back in the same exact way it was removed, so as to preserve the sanctity of the mounds. They have great respect for the Native American culture and how they lived. My daughter and I had lots of fun, from age 4, all through her teen years, of taking our family dogs to the pet trail and walking them through the fields and forest, and participated in quite a few "Howl at the Moon" 2 mile night dog hikes. So many great programs and even greater memories.

I have no shortage of good things to say. The visitor center is an absolute must. Beautiful indoor "living" stream among other educational resources. The bison are great when you can catch view of them. I've always loved Darby creek for the scenery as well. Great place to canoe/kayak and fish as well as explore and hike. One of the cleanest waterways we have and therefore one with the most diversity of aquatic critters, many endangered. If you go please help keep it clean!

As cozy and welcoming as always! The Lodge at Battelle Darby Park has been a winter gathering spot for our group for several years, and we've never been disappointed. It's always clean and set up just as we ask. And the fireplace really sets the mood. We love our Metroparks!

Very beautiful. Well maintained trails. There are lots of opportunities to pull off and picnic under a gazebo or at a park table as well as lots of open field spaces.

My son loved it, one of the volunteers was very knowledgeable and nice, was a good place to go even when it's cold outside, and at the end of our visit, my son said: "I understand why we go hiking now!" (Because we can find cool stuff like we saw inside the facility)
