The Battleship New Jersey is quite an interesting experience. The self-guided tour is simple to follow and takes you to many parts of the ship, inside and out. The guided tour shows you to areas that are not available otherwise and gives you more information about some of the self-guided parts. The tour leaders are very knowledgeable and can answer specific questions that you might have. Expect to spend a half day, but the overnight program is highly recommended if you have a chance. Bring some snacks in your bag or expect to spend a lot at the snack bar if you get hungry outside of the provided meals, which are a little lacking in quality.

Did a sleepover over with our scout pack. Awesome experience for the kids and parents too. Alot of fun exploring the ship, climbing ladders, ducking through door ways. An amazing piece of human ingenuity that unless you served on a Navy ship, you would not get to appreciate otherwise. Basically a floating, self sustaining City.

Give yourself time to properly explore this mini city on water, with great views across to the Philly skyline. The audio tour is worth its money to explain things as you go, and there's a lot to explore as well. The staff on board were very friendly and interacted well with the kids, giving them ranks, and things to report on- they liked it, which is a hard thing to do. I liked seeing all of the old computers from back in the day, which shows the dating of this ship, but adds to the experience. A good few hours spent, walking up, down and around all levels of the ship.

We had such an amazing experience learning about the Battleship New Jersey. Kevin was a fantastic guide and tailored our tour to accommodate preschool throughout first grade students. So much wonderful history. Definitely a fantastic visit.

Cool museum! There are guided tour options, but they are quite pricey. The audio tour is great as-is. Volunteers are very knowledgeable. Wouldn't recommend it to people who have mobility problems, parts of the tour route involve going up and down the steep ladders in the ship. If you want to stop and take a look at everything, then going through the whole museum will take about the same amount of time that it's open in a day.
