Mission

The Bay District Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality fire,
medical, and rescue services to the citizens of the Eighth Election District of St. Mary’s County resulting in the protection of life, property, and the environment.



We shall provide the highest level of fire suppression, public education, and pre-hospital care, to
minimize loss of life and property to the citizens of St. Mary’s County.
Through continual training and education, we shall support each member’s commitment for individual development and growth.



We shall instill in all members to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the honor and integrity of this department, and treat the citizens of St. Mary’s County with the pride that is this department and the fire service.
