We moved from across the country and wanted to get set up with a local bank (we've always previously banked with a credit union) and since this was the closest, we decided to give it a shot. When we went in we were asked if we wanted to set up overdraft protection, which we declined several times. Evidently it was set up any way, even though we kept saying no. We paid more fees in 2 months with this bank than we've paid in about 15 years with our credit union. If you transfer funds between accounts it's not immediately available even though it's all your money. Needless to say we were not happy. When we went in to close our account, they charged us a $25 your account hasn't been open long enough fee. So basically we were charged a fee because we were closing our account because we feel they charge too many fee's. Honestly, we weren't overly shocked but it confirmed we made the right choice in continuing to bank with our credit union long distance. If you decide to use them, don't let them skim over ANYTHING they want you to sign or any paperwork they give you. Read it all carefully and make sure they're not signing you up for anything you didn't ask for and that you know if your account isn't open 6 months they'll keep some of your money when you close it.
