Belen police are very corrupt not very professional and profile people, they are afraid of the drug dealers, druggies and thieves in Belen so they go out and give bogus tickets to good citizens...Also they work with County Towing, the Worst towing company in Valencia County who will do everything to try and keep your vehicles for their profits, when you can't even trust a cop it's BAD!!!!!! I also haven't seen one good thing come from the Mayor of Belen when it comes to doing good for the citizens of Belen!!!!! I am sure I will be on their hit list for my review, I will have to be on high alert while driving around Belen, I have already got word they are on the look out for me to give me any vehicle violations even up to framing me for something because they are pissed with me!!!

I kindly said "Hello" to a Belen Police Officer who replied, "Get out of here!". Really poor public relations. Belen is dysfunctional.

My car broke down late one night. An officer came behind me and helped me by pushing my car off main street and into a parking lot. When I returned in the morning, my car was already towed by Belen PD! $250 for a tow that was unnecessary and the car was where the POLICE OFFICER pushed it! Typical of Belen PD creating a hostile environment between the police department and the public. I hope BPD got a good chunk of the tow fee from Charlie's. Maybe BPD can use it for some training in working to create a better environment between law enforcement and the public instead of the hostile situation currently existing.

Dear Sir. I live on the other side of the world in Australia. We see lots of crazy police situations where unarmed people are shot for what appears to be a non life threatening situation. I was so pleased to see a video just now showing your officers handling a...dangerous but non life threatening situation with restraint and understanding. In fact I would say it was handled perfectly. Excellent work guys. Cheers.

I am the Grandson of a former NYPD Captain who served 27 years on the force and later became the Commissioner of Public Safety in Delaware. I had a terrible experience at the Mcdonald's in Belen, I backed up the line for a few minutes while I was waiting for them to correct my order. The store manager called this Police Department and one of their officers became beligerant despite the fact that I never raised my voice or showed signs of aggression. I was "complying" and he became crazed and started squeezing my wrists and checking me for weapons completely without reason. Upon the squad that came out to harass finally releasing me, one of them stated "Now go to Albuquerque with all the other white people."
