Old computer system. Was told by the manager that their store doesn't take visa gift cards. But other stores have taken it. Another customer couldn't get her refund put back onto her Belks card and thats when I realized its Belks system. Wasted mine time here. The young male associate was very friendly.

For as long as Belk/Whites existed our family has shopped there. The first place the women in our family ever bought their makeup and got fitted for a bra. Now, however, Belk has become a terrible neighbor! They spend almost no capital on customer service and most of the "customers" in the store are secret shoppers doing the work of satan- the accuser. The store on Forest Drive is also a physical hazard to its customers. They have curtains for walls in the children's section where mothers can loose children behind a curtain that conciels a great abyss of dangerous storage space and hiding a satan's layer full of surveillance equipment purposed to (do the only thing this Belk's is good at anymore)- locking up their customers. The dressing rooms stink, have little to no lighting, and are a danger due to the multiple cracks and sharp edges to the doors and frames. You can never find a customer service representative yet "customers" work for the store indirectly through loss prevention. Not only does this company pay "witnesses" to spy on customers, they waste the city of Forest Acres much time and money tying up the cities court system every Thursday with petty crime that could be averted simply through intentionally interacting with their customers. The act of customer service would do a lot to deter crime by giving the impression that the store isn't just a huge trash dump of abandoned merchandise! Secret shoppers lurk around invading the space of real customers. Four generations of our family have bought millions of dollars worth of products from Belk which our family is now reconsidering for future endeavors. Belk's needs to learn how to become a good neighbor again and to truly invest in its neighborhood instead of trying to tear it down. Praying for the grace of The Lord Jesus Christ.
