Berlin Memorial Funeral Home's motto is Caring Service with a Gentle Hand. Carolyn Smith, the owner does that and so much more. Her gentleness and kindness during such a sad time is truly amazing. She makes the process so easy when everything else is so difficult. She handles all questions and problems with such ease. She is an angel here on earth and I would never use anyone else. I feel truly blessed to know her, and I think everyone who uses Berlin Memorial Funeral Home feels the same way. God Bless them for all that they do.
We had a traditional Hindu funeral services here and were extremely happy with the whole process that was handled by James and Carolyn. We coordinated the majority of the process remotely, and they were very helpful and communicative throughout the planning. It was also their first Hindu funeral, and despite not knowing what to expect, they were remarkably compassionate and accommodating to our needs. They made us feel like a family and went out of their way to make the funeral process very easy right from the beginning to the very end. We couldn’t recommend this place more! Thank you so much Carolyn and James for all your support.

On behalf of myself, my sister, and my Dad, we want to thank Carolyn and her professional staff at Berlin Memorial Funeral Home for their genuine concern and empathy when our mother / Dad's wife Hannah McCaig passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in March. Their attention to planning all the details of her funeral was professional and top notch and we did not need to worry about a thing from the service at their funeral home, to the procession line to the church followed by procession to the cemetery was fantastic. There are so many details involved including flowers and priest arrangements and they just handled it. It could not have gone any smoother. We would highly recommend Berlin Memorial to anyone who is looking for a caring and professional funeral ceremony for their loved ones. They present all types of options of your choosing to make the funeral service very memorable and they alleviated any of our worries. They took care of absolutely everything. I would like to thank Carolyn and the staff for all of their help with our mother's arrangements and burial. They were very helpful from the pre planning to the graveside service. As heartbreaking as it was to plan, they were only concerned about our needs, no attempts to upsell us to something our mother wouldn't have wanted. Carolyn was helpful with recommendations from everything from obituary to the flowers and the cemetery stone. Berlin Memorial Funeral Home was also very accommodating with the delay due to covid. I would highly recommend this company.
We have used Berlin Memorial Funeral Home many times and are always happy with the service provided by Carolyn and her staff. I personally love the "homey" feel of the facility and the personal care given before, during and after the service. In times of corporate facilities it's nice to have a home town facility with exceptional and personal care given to the family.
Carolyn and Jim at Berlin Memorial Funeral Home were of invaluable help preparing for and executing arrangements for the passing of my aunt. They were instrumental in setting up a final expenses fund for her, carried out our wishes perfectly at her passing, facilitated her unusual burial request, and prepared a lovely graveside setting. They are understanding, patient, professional, and personable.
