Berryville Baptist Church is a caring family of Christian believers in the Virginia Baptist tradition, located in Berryville, Virginia.
This church exists to regularly worship God, to enlist and develop believers to become followers of Christ, to learn and apply Christ's teachings, to care for people in need, and to support local and global missions through our church and in cooperation with other churches.
Berryville Baptist Church was founded in 1772 with 29 members. The church's first structure was erected on a site north of Berryville, which is today commemorated by an historical marker located on Route 340. James Ireland, who was jailed in Culpeper for preaching without a license from the local Anglican authorities, was an early pastor of the church and is buried at the original site of the church building. The current sanctuary was built following the Civil War, with additions made in the 1940's and 1950's
Responding to God's great gift in Jesus Christ and blessed by a rich heritage, Berryville Baptist Church seeks to make disciples, caring for its members, the community and the world through worship, preaching, teaching, fellowship and ministry
