Pleasant place to rest after a days touring of the area. The pool was refreshing and woke us up. The air conditioning felt so good - it was almost 100 that day. Bed was comfy, shower was great, breakfast filled us up. Enjoyed our stay.

I've stayed at the Best Western in John Day several times over the past dozen years.  It has always been quiet, friendly and clean.  The recent complete renovation of the guest rooms, lobby, and breakfast area are very pleasing and comfortable.  The expanded complimentary breakfast is appreciated, but could use some fruit.  The John Day BW is probably the nicest place to stay in the area, and is a short walk to several restaurants, fast food, bars, espresso shop, drug/grocery store, and Fair Grounds complex.

Got a work suite. The AC and shower were great, the TV was mostly cooperative, the internet, while a little slow, worked fine enough (though they could definitely work on their coverage in the hotel; a room farther from the office than my own likely wouldn't be able to connect), and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was also pretty decent for hotel fare. It's right off the highway through John Day, a nice enough little town. There are obviously limited options for food, but a late night DQ run hit the spot just fine.

This place took me by surprise. It was so clean and nice. The staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast was good. Everything was nice about this hotel.

One of the best Best Western properties in Oregon and Washington that we've stayed at.  Very clean, roomy and quiet.  Everything worked as expected.  The breakfast is also great...even at the very last minute :-)  

Great staff...especially Johnny!
