Recently and friend from high school and I reunited over an early dinner at Goodman’s. We have the most amazing time. The food was fresh and well prepared! The drinks were exquisite. The severe made the evening. Thank you for a great time with a friend I hadn't seen in almost twenty-five years.Food: 5/5
I made a reservation for 11:30 via phone. I arrived on time and had the best table in the restaurant. The other half of my party was running very late but the host kindly allowed us to keep our reserved table. The food itself was a really contrasting mix: the clam chowder was the best clam chowder soup variant I’ve ever had. On the other hand the dumplings and dessert disappointed me. The server did not correctly split our bill, which honestly should be unexpected at a high end place like this. I truly think this is a restaurant that you can understand as having no extreme focus on its food, but on the atmosphere and luxury of dining right on Fifth Avenue inside the iconic and famous Bergdorf Goodman building. It’s a niche tourist spot in terms of NYC; it’s also place to make a reservation “just because”. I think it would be an excellent place to meet after an authentic brunch or breakfast for coffee or wine. If this review means anything, no doubt I will be back to BG before the end of the summertime.
Afternoon tea with a great view of Central park. Their high tea comes with a variety of sandwiches, scones and dessert for $75 per person, which sounds quite reasonable compared to other high tea places in the city. For $100, you can add a glass of champagne. Portion is good - I was full when I left.Food: 4/5
Update - the manager was very attentive to the mold issue. He took a keen interest in remedying the situation and offered a refund. Pleasant afternoon tea with good service. Reason for the 2 stars is that I found mould on the sandwich bread when I got out. It was a shock. Be careful with the bread there. Would have been 1 star were it not for the rest of the food and experience.
I took a friend to celebrate her 40th birthday and It was an excellent way to celebrate, it was affordable lux tea time/lunch everything we ordered plus tea came up to $200. We had a tea time plater, I had lobster macaroni and cheese and she had pot pie I had the waiter bring her a 2 scoop gelato with a candle on it and I had an abc personalized ice cream. Soooo good. The waiter was nice and the food came quick. This is a must try because it is affordable tea time with a hint of luxury. We were seated overlooking a part of central park
We made a reservation for high tea. While we were waiting for our table to be ready, this lady projectile vomits in the middle of the restaurant. It is by no means the restaurant’s fault but we were so disgusted that it killed our appetite. If this was some all you can drink spot, I would not be as shocked but in a place like Bergdorfs, this is u expected. The vomit almost touches my coat, luckily it did not get on me. The food was delicious especially the scones. Our waiter was very accommodating, someone in our party had food allergies and he made sure to separate her food and replaced some items with others. Overall it was a lovely expensive minus the vomiting!
This was my first afternoon tea experience and I loved it! The food was amazing, I especially loved the homemade scones , and the view of Central Park was also so beautiful!! I want to go back for lunch or dinner because everything looked amazing!
The Gotham Salad is huge, fresh and delicious. I honestly couldn't eat anything much after. I did have some wonderful sorbet with berries and I think a coffee. The only reason I am giving a four is because I found my server to be very anxious, not rude but definitely hadn't mastered the art of quiet confidence. A confident server makes a big positive difference.
Had champagne tea. Service was amazing. Beautiful view of Central Park. The scones with jams and creams were delicious. The open sandwiches were also delicious. The bread on the closed sandwiches were on the dry side and felt like they had sat out for a while. Overall an enjoyable experience.Food: 4/5
Nice and Cozy Restaurant with amazing view if you have reservations. You also have a bar service that doesn't require reservation, but 1st come 1st Served. Service is seriously fast. I ordered Golden Pina Mocktail, Lobster Bisque, and Lobster napoleon. Food tasted good and bartender fid a great job as well.
