I purchased my bike here 8 years ago from Tim & Michael and they have been very helpful in keeping my ride on the road ever since.  I can honestly say that I have enjoyed each visit to the shop and have found the techs there friendly & knowledgeable.   Cash is king and Bicycle Michael's was the ONLY bike shop in NOLA willing to  "haggle" over a cash sale of a bike that had to be ordered from Electra and not out of their stock on hand.  So I continue to return and always recommend Bicycle Michael's to friends and strangers alike.

The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Unlike other places in the city, they're pretty chill about answering questions and helping you on your biking journey- without being all smug about it.

We came in shopping for replacement bikes and received helpful attention with knowledgeable discussion of alternatives in our price range and usage needs.  On 2 rather extended visits, we were given the opportunity to test drive bikes as well as ask many questions about available models, colors, seats, accessories.  Michael was always forthright and patient and never condescending as can happen when one is not looking for top of the line bikes.

While there, we witnessed other customers of all walks of life come in and get helped, regardless of whether they were spending a few $ or a few hundred $.

This is an urban bike shop. One can expect knowledgeable and reasonable services.  I'm surprised to hear of other reviewers expecting that it would be ok to use their tools.  Like going to a restaurant and asking if I can use their pots and stove to heat up something I brought in.

Despite having a lot of respect for the team at Bicycle World in Jefferson, we bought our bikes at Bicycle Michael's because they had best product at best price for us.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. If you’re visiting from out of town it’s a great place to rent a bike. Highly recommend!
