Decent at best, nothing special. Food was cooked and prepared to serve in a timely manner. Fish was good, could have used additional seasoning; coleslaw was the best part of the meal. Hot sauce was not "hot sauce"; very watery and had an after taste that matched vinegar. Overall, this meal was to par, but not rivaling top seafood spots in Riverside. Recommendation: I would give the Big Fish Market another taste to expand my view of the menu. Again, there are better spots to eat, however, if you run across this restaurant give them a shot!
I have been anticipating the Big Fish Market all weekend and due to the holiday I barely made it here today.. I was excited to try one of favorite cuisines and I was not disappointed… I had the Lunch Special #2 3 pieces of fish of your choice I went with the Red Snapper and 5 medium shrimp both are breaded and deep fried to delicious crunch served with two sides I went with potatoes salad and fries .. I enjoyed the potato salad but next time I’ll get another side beside the fries.. beside the fries the food was great.. the service was friendly and fast.. called my order in and I must say it was the smoothest phone order I have ever placed.. the prices were great.. honestly no complaints and I look forward to coming again .. highly recommend you come check it out.. can’t wait to try some new sides!!!
2 out of 5. Mostly ok but nothing really great. Hot sauces were definitely watered/vinegared down as other reviews have commented. Fish is cooked well. Shrimps are 51-60 bags so they are small. Coleslaw was not fresh so it must be made in one great batch and not again for a few days. Overall for the price it's average. I've eaten here several times over a few years and nothing has improved or changed much. The high reviews this place gets must be its quantity for price lots of breading and its a bit cheaper than its surrounding competition and one of the few seafood places in moreno valley. Also as a side note I'm not sure how often they change the cooking oil but the fried shrimp had a musky aftertaste.
First time trying this place we found online through Yelp. We ordered online before 7:30 P.M. and drove to pick up our order. Once we got there, my wife was told that we should have called ahead since they don't take phone orders after 7:30 P.M. or walk-ins after 7:40 P.M....How are we supposed to know? As we waited for our food we had already paid for, we were told multiple times that next time, we need to call and not use the app since they take 20%..... Poor service, and the food wasn't that great. First and last time we come here. We understand they want to go home, but if they don't customers to order after a certain time then it should be a conversation they need to have with the app service not scold your new customers about it.....secondly if you don't like the app taking a cut to promote your business, then don't use them.
This was my 1st time coming I normally dined in at Louisiana seafood but I was in Moreno Valley And decided to try something different.. I ordered a 10 piece fish and shrimp I killed it fire.. It was a Sunday and the football game was on so the atmosphere was perfectFood: 5/5
From the hush puppies to the 7 up cake everything I've tried here so far is great I usually stick to a red snapper or shrimp combo but they have family bundles that can easily serve 3 to 4 people for a decent price
I ate at Big Fish Market for the 1st on February 28th 2020 and I didn't know what to expect. Once I received my friend oysters and French fries I must admit that I am very impressed. The oysters were absolutely delicious and the fries were crispy and potatoey. I love the freshness I love the taste. I will be back.
Yo This is the BEST PLACE in moreno_VALLEY if you need more season just ask if u want your fish or shrimp CRUNCHY just ask every time I go here great service super good fish freshly cook If you have not try this place just stop in never disappointed
This is a small shop with just three tables inside. There is essentially no decor, other than a skinny, wall-mounted tank of goldfish which are, presumably, not on the menu. The counter is composed of two refrigerated cases, one for raw fish and the other for pies and pastries. The menu is fairly extensive, showing snapper, sole, catfish, and tilapia, among others. Battered and deep fried seems to be the default cooking method for all fish, although you can order your selection to be grilled which I did for an additional charge of a dollar -- which the proprietor seemed to discourage. In fact, my decision was so unusual that the cook came out to confirm that I really wanted it grilled. The menu has many notes indicating that there is an extra charge for this and that. It looks like the majority of their business is in take out, as my time there saw many people hauling out big orders. It also appeared to me that there is a lot of repeat business because the counter help greeted numerous individuals in a familiar manner. To the food: Most entrees can be ordered in four sizes, with each step up featuring more pieces of fish. I chose the tilapia dinner, the largest portion, composed of five pieces and two sides. The sides menu is pretty large and includes some hard-to-find items, like red beans & rice and collard greens. My fish was tender, if a bit over cooked, and lacking much in the way of seasonings. There was certainly plenty of it. The macaroni salad was plentiful and the portion of onion rings was large. Both sides were quite good. The meal was served in a Styrofoam box, despite the fact I was eating in. It included several wedges of lemons and limes -- plus two sauces. One sauce was a mild tartar with no pickle bits. The other was a red, mildly-hot, watery substance of unknown origin. Overall, the food was good and generous, the service was disinterested, and the ambience was non-existent. I eat fish every Friday so, when I am traveling on business, I seek out local, non-chain fish restaurants like this one. But, I have to say that I would not make the Big Fish Market on Sunnymead a regular stop. While not recommended, you're not likely to leave here hungry.
if you like seasoning it wasn’t thereMy food came and look exactly like the picture, no seasoning tho, potatoes salad has a good consistency but taste like sugar, the hot sauce taste like chili water. I recommend if you don’t eat hot sauce & okay with less seasoning. Food came out fast, 10 mins I ordered the lunch special 2 cat fish, 5 medium shrimp oh yeah the shrimp taste like it was boiled before it was fried, I got two sides fries and potatoes salad. For $9.99 plus tax, their sodas are $1!
