Story

The Sublette County Library System, with locations in Big Piney and Pinedale, serves the people of Sublette County, Wyoming, which covers a lot of Rocky Mountain territory. It is the size of Connecticut and boasts a population of 10, 247 residents (2010 Census), and not a single traffic light. This area of wild, western Wyoming is an outdoor recreation paradise that features geographic isolation and snowy weather nine months out of the year. Information and entertainment can be hard to come by in our neck of the woods, so we whole-heartedly design our library to be an educational, informational and cultural center for the region.

Mission

It is the fundamental premise of the Sublette County Library System that a democratic society must have an informed citizenry, that people can better achieve enrichment and fulfillment through lifelong use of available information and knowledge, and that the public library is the focal point in the community for both formal and informal association with information and ideas.
