I love, love, love Big Spring Park. It is such a beautiful spot in the city and there is always something interesting going on - even if it's just watching other people enjoy the place. A couple of weekends ago they had Jazz in The Park which made for a delightful atmosphere. The walking path is very nice and wide and watching the fish and ducks while you stroll is so relaxing. There are plenty of benches and places to buy pellets to feed the fish and birds, which is nice. The fountain is such a beautiful feature to sit and watch, and the colored lights and smaller fountain across the street is beautiful too. There is lots of green space and the museum and restaurant on the same grounds as the park make for a full day of activity. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful spot. It is great for all ages and physical abilities.

I absolutely love this park, especially now that they've redone half of the park. The wildlife seems much happier and it's absolutely beautiful. My boyfriend and I love to save our quarters so we can come up and feed the ducks and fish. It's quiet when there isn't any events going on and it's probably the cleanest park in Huntsville. Honestly the worst part of it is seeing stupid people still feeding the ducks bread despite it being well known that it can kill wildlife. But for those who love animals, there's little feed stations set up all over the pond and you get a lot of food for 25¢. I'd recommend this park to anyone who lives around Huntsville or anyone that's just passing through Rocket City.

Has and always will be one of my favorite places in Huntsville. I have always loved downtown so much, but I wouldn't nearly as much without the big spring. Old and new side of the park remains beautiful and is family welcoming up until sunset. I certainly wouldn't walk around alone after dark in the park, but i feel very safe there alone all throughout the day. Great restaurants surrounding the park area that are walking distance such as The Cozy Cow, Pane e Vino, Sam and Greg's, etc. This truly is the Heart of Huntsville and is a must go. Not to mention the Christmas time festivities that have recently been introduced. Ice skating in the parking and all of the colors from the hundreds of tree lights swirling into the spring's waters are a breathtaking site!

The recent renovation to the Park makes this a much friendlier place to relax, exercise, and attend events. With more benches, better accessibility, the addition of fountains and the "canal" that runs between the VBC and Embassy Suites, Big Spring Park continues to be a favorite landmark of many locals and tourists alike. Great family friendly place!

We had a nice picnic on the lawn. When we decided to go for a short walk, one of the local color started checking out our picnic basket and looking around suspiciously. We hurried back to where we had left our belongings and confronted him. He said he was just standing there and looking around. Uh huh. In a nutshell, it was a nice place except for the local citizens.
