Park has been let go. Walking trail is fine, but the big pond is a total disaster. Full of algae choking out the fish and other animals. Smell is awful, not to mention bad on the eyes. Whoever is the caretaker or lack there of hasn't emptied the several gallon buckets provided as butt cans and they are full of water and algae and cigarette butts. Also there is a large plastic PVC pipe just lying next to the trail, that's pretty. Also looks as if someone throwed one pipe into the pond as well. Dirt is washing into the pond and breaking away from the edge of the bank near the pump house. You'd think the town of Springville would take better care of the people's investment but you'd be wrong in that assumption. Guess the people need to take their park back from the city and keep it up through volunteers and donations.

Nice place to bring youngsters (and yourself) to beat down the summer sun in Alabama. It was built by a SPLOST, which had a start and end period to fund the park. The Springville city government did what they do best and started charging a fee for all individuals who want go in and cool off. So they hired some babysitters to blow a whistle if a kid is running too fast. Double taxation is what I call it. Things like this are the reason Alabama is dead last in government transparency. I almost forgot, a creek runs through the park, and in that creek there are a ton of snakes and they don't appear to be scared of humans PROS: The water is cold, clean and refreshing with out any line or waiting CONS: Government operates it

A fantastic addition to Springville. This park has done a lot to bring the community together and to promote health and happiness. It could always use more work, but it never fails to impress me either.
