The Big Wheel is one those unique places you pass while driving through the west. It's the largest hand dug well in the US, and it is very well preserved. Murals on the walls tell the story of the well and the story of tornado that devastated the town. I recommend taking the stairs into the well unless you are afraid of heights.

Eye saw the old ... Eye see the new... I really like what they did with the presentation and the people there at the Museum!!! I will be coming back with more family in the future...!!!!

Although I enjoyed coming here more before the tornado because it was more authentic then, it's still a great place with history.

A prime example of roadside Americana with a deeper story today than when it was dug. The well itself is reason enough to visit Greensburg but the museum also tells the story of spirit, labor, determination and fortitude. A city that dug deep for water to flourish and came together to rebuild after the community was ravaged by a tornado.

Interesting Day trip. We had driven by this for over 20 years but never stopped. It was a pleasant surprise. They rebuilt after the tornado and is a nice attraction. They expanded on the history of the area and of that part of the "great prairie". Well worth the time to see and experience.
