I recently went to this venue to celebrate the birthdays of my sister and brother-in-law. The experience was pretty terrible. The waitress, who was slow, forgetful, and would disappear for periods of up to 40 minutes at a time, told us right off the bat when we arrived that they were completely unable to serve burgers. So, with about 30% of the menu unavailable, a number of us ordered brisket-- Black-Eyed Sally's supposedly specializes in southern BBQ, after all. Well guess what-- no brisket either. 

The only reason I gave an extra star is because the music was very good. But lots of other bars have good music...

Fun southern style restaurant with excellent food and live jazz music in the evening starting around 9 to 9:30pm. I had the chicken plate with mashed potatoes and green beans and really enjoyed it. Good sized serving and moderately priced.

We went last weekend and the food was exquisite here. I felt like I was in New Orleans. The service lacked and they forgot some of our food but they certainly made up for it with discounted food pricing and drinks on the house which made our night that much better as my boyfriend was losing it. Also, the chef personally came and apologized for forgetting which I thought was so nice. I would definitely go back anytime, food is awesome as well as the atmosphere. Beside our hiccups I would recommend and love this place cant wait to go back. Love my downtown Hartford life.

Great service. Great atmosphere. Great food. I had the blackened salmon salad. Salmon was done to perfection. Salad crispy and fresh. They even had Tito’s so I could have a gluten-free salty dog. Delicious. I’d go again and recommend it highly. Sorry—forgot to take picture before I ate it all!

This place is a must if you're looking for Great food,funky relaxing , unique atmosphere,experience caring staff,that work effortlessly to insure your dining is a memorable night out! The live music is a added Bonus and was part of this jazz flavored theme.We had to make reservations because of the 14 friends  gathering. Prices was good and parking is metered across the street.Black eye Sallys is packed on Friday and Saturday.The weekdays are perfect.
