This was a unique find! The food is excellent and we'll presented. From the looks of it, it appears like a normal restaurant. However, we quickly learned there is no table service, you place your order, receive a buzzer and retrieve your order when it's ready. There is full bar and fortunately it is well tended. Valencia was the bartender when we visited and she provided  top notch service. This place is clean, well designed, and definitely worth another visit!

Was in town visiting a friend, and we opted on this place for breakfast. Interesting process on ordering your food.  I don't know if that's the norm (ordering at the register then taking a seat), but I could see that being an issue if there's a line of people. Still it was different in a positive way.  Food came out and was hot.  The portions could have been a bit bigger,  but I didn't walk away hungry.  Very relaxing atmosphere and a great place to have a meal and a conversation. Only reason I can't give five stars is the lack of that personal interaction during your meal. Other than that, it's a nice place to have a meal.

Should have read the reviews first.   If you want full service sit at the bar.   If don't it's self serve at full service prices.     Observed 4 staff spend 5 minutes showing a customer how to carry 4 plates instead of just help him carry the plates to his table.     

Order eggs Benedict traditional with grits and eggs benedict salmon with potatoes.   Eggs cooked perfect on both.  Tradition was good but average.  The salmon had so much lemon you couldn't taste the micro thin salmon patty.

Will give it another try for lunch and dessert in the future.

Black walnut is a good place to visit. Their food is very good for the dishes I've ordered but I can say their coffee could be better. Majority of time I eat breakfast but I've had lunch there once and was good too. The place is always busy with people so I guess that means something. Make sure you save room for dessert after the meal. Their ice cream selection is awesome.

Love this place for a casual lunch. If you sit at the bar you get full service, or you can order your food at the counter for more of a "self-serve" option. I love their Black Walnut Salad or their Greek Salad with added blackened chicken. The garlic bread that comes on the side is so good! Also, they make great coffee and lattes!
