Blue Wing Frog is amazing! We have multiple food allergies in the family, so dining out can be difficult. However, they already have gluten-free and vegan options marked on the menu. They can also tell you about the ingredients in everything, since they make all their own breads, soups, and cookies... and even their own mustards and ketchup. (The mayonnaise is commercial, though.) They buy their produce and meats from local farms and make everything from scratch. 

I went up to talk to the guy at the counter (Robert, co-owner) about their ingredients, and he went to fetch the person who, he said, could tell me everything I wanted to know about the food. The woman (Kelly, co-owner) was very knowledgeable about food allergies and even discussed with me the chemical properties of “fully refined soybean oil,” which they use for cooking but apparently is not allergenic since all of the proteins have been removed. She advised me to do my own research anyway and offered to cook my food with olive oil instead. The bread and hummus, she said, were made with olive oil. I had the blue wing burger with no bun, no mayonnaise; the taters (red skin seasoned potatoes, fried in olive oil); the hummus plate appetizer, which came with carrot and cucumber wedges; and a watermelon wedge that Robert brought over to offer for my baby girl. 

Everything was delicious!!! I left happy, well nourished, and full from eating too much hummus!

Amazing scratch made food and great service! Stop in here if you are passing through town or live in the area. They are also friendly to hikers from the AT! Ordered the Brian's Barnyard burger and it did not disappoint. Would recommend that, the Cubano, Philly Cheese steak or anything else on the menu. There is a killer beer, wine, and cider list as well.

Funky. Friendly.  Spicy.  Unexpected in a town like Front Royal. You'll feel like you're in Berkley during the summer of love. This place looks like an old car show room transformed into a restaurant with concrete floors, hanging plants, hand painted walls, a fun and friendly owner who's a hoot. Spiced shrimp is their specialty,  but there are other unusual twists to regular sandwich and salad fare. Be prepared--they use a lot of spices and herbs. If you don't like spice, ask first about a dish. And keep an eye on your budget. The bill adds up fast.

My wife and I found this place after a nice scenic drive along nearby Skyline drive. Everyone here is passionate about delivering a special experience to the customer every time and it shows through in the cooking, the ambiance, and of course those fantastic fresh baked cookies! My recommendation? Try the shrimp tacos. Absolutely amazing!

Local, friendly and delicious. This place was a great stop for the tasty vegan fare we’ve had in awhile and especially cherished in Shenandoah. 
We’ll be back.
